It is with great sadness that I have to announce that the Rose and Crown will be closed until further notice.

The current trading conditions are such that it has been impossible to make the pub break even, let alone make a profit, and sustaining the pub is no longer viable.

I would like to thank all of the staff that I have had the pleasure to work with during my time here.

I would also like to thank all of the customers that have supported the pub over the last 8 years or so, many of whom have become great friends.

Once I have more of an idea about what will happen with the pub, I will provide an update on its future.

Sincerest apologies to all that will be affected by this news.

It is with deep regret and sadness that I have to announce that the Rose and Crown will be temporarily closing on Monday 26th August for 2 weeks. Jack and I will be preparing to leave the pub in preparation for it's re-opening and transition to a new landlord. This process is currently ongoing and will hopefully be resolved very soon.

In our eight and a half years running the pub, we have had the pleasure of meeting some fantastic people, many of whom have become very good friends.

Like many hospitality businesses, the impact of Covid and its after effect on trade, huge cost rises caused by the War in Ukraine and the cost of living crisis, debts as a result are no longer sustainable.

With a new landlord, a clean slate and the support of the village the pub has the opportunity to flourish and continue.

As you can imagine during this difficult time for myself and all of the staff your understanding would be greatly appreciated.

More information will be forthcoming in the very near future,

Don’t forget, Live music in the garden this afternoon from “The Lower 48” 4-7pm. BBQ from 3pm. It’s going to be a lovely day!

This coming Sunday at the Rose and Crown, Live music in the garden with the Lower 48 band from 4-7pm.

BBQ starting at 3pm, come along and enjoy the music, sunshine and Food.

If bringing children, please ensure that they do not run wild around the garden for Health, Safety and others enjoyment reasons.
