Our Story

22 Bar & Smokehouse opened in December 2016 as a modern style bar instantly receiving praise for the City centre style atmosphere on a Friday & Saturday night. We focused on training the bartenders in basic mixology & developing a drinks menu which would ‘wow’ our customers. The back bar was stocked with fantastic spirits to satisfy even the most adventurous customers, we chose a brilliant selection of Gins & filled our wine fridges with a variety of interesting and tasty wines from all over the world.

In July 2017 the Smokehouse launched food. This was a very exciting time due to all the hard work in designing and building the perfect kitchen to create the food our Head Chef had been dreaming about. We launched to some amazing feedback, the Smoked meats, BBQ food, steaks, burgers, nachos & those tasty small plates were getting a brilliant response from our customers. We refreshed the menu in November, adding some new dishes & with even more planned for the future our restaurant is going from strength to strength. The Smokehouse is known for it’s quality, atmosphere & amazing staff. The bartenders are working to a professional level, the cocktail menu is one of the most varied in the North & the team create every drink with excellence. In the kitchen we are working with a fantastic team who are now developing specials & themed food nights to keep our customers entertained & coming back for more.
