💔 Devastating News from Rubus 💔

We are absolutely heartbroken to share some devastating news with you all. As we arrived at Rubus to prepare for our first busy week back filled with private events and a fully booked weekend, we were greeted by a burst pipe from the roof. This has caused catastrophic flooding throughout our beautiful restaurant, leaving extensive damage and so many unknowns ahead of us.

We have however had the burst pipe fixed by a plumber and will be in touch with our customers ASAP who have tables booked this weekend to let you know when we will be able to reopen. As a small local business still finding our feet in a challenging time for hospitality, this has hit us incredibly hard.

Right now, we are urgently seeking an electrician to assess the safety of our building and a plasterer to help repair the damage to the ceiling. If anyone in our wonderful community can help, we would be eternally grateful.

Your support means everything to us as we rebuild and work towards reopening our doors. Thank you for standing by us through this incredibly difficult time.

CHEESE & WINE NIGHT AT THE SOCIAL 🧀🍷

Brie ready to sip, savor, and say cheers!

We thought we’d test the water to see who would be interested in attending a festive cheese and wine night here at Rubus. 🙏🏼 Thank you all for the responses, it seems many of you like the idea of this and what better way to get into the Christmas spirit than sharing cheese and wine with friends and family listening to Christmas songs! So it’s a goer!

🗓️ Saturday 14th December 🕣 7pm this will be on a first come first serve basis as we can only seat so many people in our dining area.

The deets 👉🏼 £35 per head and a £10 deposit will be required for those who wish to book on to this as we expect it to be a sellout (deposit will be knocked off the price per person on the evening)

🤷🏻‍♀️ What can you expect?

A fabulous range of cheeses expertly paired with reds, whites, rosè and port! We’ll even be baking a delicious cheese cake that pairs perfectly with a dessert wine to finish 👌🏼

*Please note this event will only go ahead providing we sell out due to the cost involved of running a cheese and wine evening. Should we have to cancel for any reason all deposits will be refunded. Should the event go ahead and we are not given more than 24 hours notice that you are no longer able to attend for whatever reason, deposits will be non refundable.

🥂 Let’s get together down at the social! We have plenty of stuff going on over the next couple of months! So grab your gal pal or your gran and come down and enjoy some chilled vibes with cocktails, beers wines and even some small plates.

We have the following events planned and would love for you all to join us!

8th November we’re excited to welcome back DC Music who’ll be gracing our ears with some soul hits followed by .musicandwords who’ll be playing acoustic jams on 15th November and returning again on 13th December.

✍🏼 We have a creative writing group being hosted here at Rubus every Monday throughout November, more info on this soon!

We also have a Northern Soul night in the pipeline too before Christmas which we know will be a sell out! 🕺🏼👀

Finally, don’t forget we still have spaces left on our wreath making class for just £75pp which includes a welcome drink and canapés 🌲

Also, keep your eyes peeled as our new small plates seasonal menu will be dropping very soon ✌🏽

Whilst we are usually open to hiring those with minimal experience as we train all our staff, right now we need people with relevant experience to take us into event season.

We’re looking for someone with a great attitude, strong work ethic and an interest in all things seasonal and social ✌🏽

✔️ 10+ hours a week
✔️Waitressing and bar work experience preferred
✔️ must be 18+

The idea of changing our menu seasonally is to offer the tastiest flavours at a more affordable price.

3 dishes for £20 each Thursday until our Autumn menu changes, making it a perfect opportunity to indulge in bold seasonal flavours.

Bookings can be made via phone and email and we will shortly be launching our new booking system to make it so much easier for you guys!

We open Wednesday 5pm til Saturday late and our full menu is also available online.
