Membership Notice
As you will be aware, following the initial COVID lockdown in March 2020 and the severe financial impact on the Club, an EGM was called and the Club was closed down and put through a formal bankruptcy process with an appointed liquidator. This was done to protect the Club members and committee from any potential financial liability, particularly with the massive uncertainty surrounding government restrictions which, with hindsight, lasted almost 2 years, which a club like ours could not sustain.
The bankruptcy process is now almost complete and creditors who responded to the communication from the liquidators have been settled in full. There is a small amount of money left and the Committee put to the members at the EGM in 2020 that any money left should be donated to charity so that we could leave a lasting and fitting legacy of the Club. This was not disputed and at a recent meeting with the liquidators, the committee agreed that this remaining money should be donated to a selection of local charities.
With that in mind, we would like to invite members to suggest local charities to which we can donate money to. Please list in the comments section below who you think should have money donated to them, the committee will be back in touch with the liquidators in the next few weeks to give them the details of the charities which will have money donated to them.
Please note, this post is not for a debate about the closing of the club, it is purely a post to identify charities to donate the remaining monies to.
Thank you for your support over the years.
