Not today. Not tomorrow. But soon...

The Iron Duke is starting to build its senior leadership team, and we're keen to meet exceptional hospitality people ahead of roles commencing in January/February 2027.

We're interested in talking to experienced candidates for:

🔥 General Manager
🔥 Assistant General Manager
🔥 Head Chef
🔥 Sous Chef

We're not collecting CVs right now.

We're looking for people who lead by example, take pride in developing great teams, obsess over guest experience, understand quality food and drink, and want to be part of building something genuinely special.

The Iron Duke will be home to Dukes Bar, The Iron Chophouse and The Dukes Chambers (holiday lets). A venue built around exceptional hospitality, quality produce, local seafood, great drinks, open-grill cooking and a building with a remarkable story at its heart ❤️

This isn't a formal recruitment process at this stage.

It's an opportunity to have a conversation. To share ideas. To hear your story. And to connect with talented hospitality professionals who might help shape the future of The Iron Duke.

We’ve seen all the excitement around The Iron Duke in Great Yarmouth, and we love it ❤️
But we’ve also seen a bit of confusion, so let’s set the record straight…

Yes, we (Zaks) are proud to be the end operators of this incredible restoration 🏛️, working with the Great Yarmouth Preservation Trust, funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund 🎟️ and Historic England

But The Iron Duke is NOT becoming “just a Zaks” or a burger bar 🍔🚫

It will reopen as "The Iron Duke" a proper pub and destination in its own right 🍻

Inside, you’ll find:

🔥 "The Iron Chophouse" a classic chophouse focused on quality cuts, proper cooking, great British produce and local seafood 🐟

🍺 "Dukes Bar" within The Iron Duke, pouring local Lacons beers, art deco-inspired cocktails 🍸, and delivering a proper pub feel

Food-wise:

🍺 "Dukes Bar" proper pies 🥧 and light bites, perfect with a pint
🥩 "The Iron Chophouse" – quality meat, local veg alongside fresh local seafood cooked right in front of you!

🌱 We’ll be sourcing the best produce Norfolk & Suffolk have to offer! Local, seasonal and full of flavour

This is about restoring something special for Great Yarmouth, not replacing it 💛
We’re here to respect its history while giving it a proper new lease of life 🛠️

We can’t wait to open the doors 🙌
