I’ve not posted much on here lately because we have been fighting so many battles just lately and I’ve really not known whether I’m coming or going. It’s been a stressful few years. Well the sad news is… we have lost what we have been fighting for. We had so many good plans for the Berney Arms, we have done so much work on the site. Now it seems it was a waste of time and the Berney Arms and all the plans we had will not go ahead. This is due to the decision of the Broads Authority. The BA issued an enforcement notice on us. We did appeal, but we have lost the appeal. The Berney Arms Bistro can’t run without anybody living on site and we have been given three months to leave the site. Not only Berney Arms will return to a wilderness and probably become a home for travellers, squatters etc. but I will lose my home. As many of you know I own a number of rescue dogs… Its impossible to find accommodation that will house me with the dogs and the council will not house me with them. I will not give up my dogs so I will become homeless.

I’m not willing to give up on this! I don’t want to give up on the Berney Arms and all the plans we have for the site… and I don’t want to lose my home! So we are going to fight this all the way!

I need your help with this… please sign our petition and share it to as many people as you can. Let’s keep the Berney Arms alive, it would be such a shame to see the whole site closed down! 😢

A LONG AWAITED UPDATE!

Firstly let me apologise for not updating the page recently... but I'm here now and promise to give you regular updates in the future.

Unfortunately we are still not fully open as I'd wished for... however, we are open for a takeaway service. We can not offer cooked food as the kitchen has not yet been renovated, we can only offer drinks and pre packed snacks to take away due to the lack of toilet facilities. (environmental health and food safety regulations)

We have in stock a small variety of cold beers, ciders, wines and soft drinks and can offer tea, coffee and hot chocolate along with pre packed snacks and ice creams to take away. We hope to gradually increase our stock throughout the summer season.

We are working on getting the establishment fully up and running but at the moment it seems we take one step forward then three steps backwards... but... we are determined to get there and we will not give up!

We are open most afternoons.... if the door is not open but the open sign is outside... we are about and on site somewhere, but we do have work to do in getting the place ready. Jump up and down and wave your hands about and we will see you 😀
(We will try and sort a bell out that can be used instead of the hand waving and jumping suggestion! 😂 )

We can't get this fully up and running without your support, so do pop by if you're in the area even if it is only for an ice cream.
