“We had been looking for some where new to celebrate out wedding anniversary and found the New Inn recommended by the Good Food Guide. Happily, both a room and a restaurant table were available. Sorted! Nice small village location in the Lincolnshire Wolds. Easy parking. The weather helped with first impressions with drinks being enjoyed in the garden and a very warm welcome inside. The New Inn combines efficiency and informality – I don’t remember anyone asking who we were at any time. Having completed registration online, we were shown to our room in a converted outbuilding a very short walk away. Lovely room, well equipped with a very comfy bed. We slept well with no problem with pub or road noise. The only misstep was of my own making. I ordered a beer off the guest pumps at the bar, expecting a local ale but it was from the other side of the Humber – local to us! As it was Saturday night, the extended menu was available, so a choice of pub classics plus weekend specials. My pork belly starter was one of the best pork dishes I have eaten and all our choices through 3 courses were beautifully cooked and presented. The wine list was well chosen and well priced, featuring among others a keenly priced grower’s champagne. Finally, breakfast started at 8 am on a Sunday. Unusual but very welcome for us. This was a very enjoyable stay for us.”
