The Clarence Tavern is one of the oldest "Coach Houses" in the South of England and one of Gosport's original watering holes. The brewery used to be situated in the pub but their success meant they needed to find larger premises so they now have a property across the road from us. We are situated in the heart of town with ideal links to Portsmouth, Southampton and London (only 1.5hr by train) and

only 10 minutes from J11 of the M27. Within easy reach of the New Forest and the Cathedral Cities of Winchester and Chichester. With our own function room there is always something going on. The function room can be hired for your family occasions, band nights, meetings or why not use it for your very own SKITTLES night with our purpose built skittle alley. Perfect for a work do or party with a difference. During the summer months we often have a bouncy castle out for the children to enjoy while you get to sit and enjoy a drink in the sun. We often have our BBQ out cooking up a tasty treat. This is available for you to use for your own gatherings or just because you fancy one, contact us for more details. We have just about has everything with a guaranteed warm welcome by hosts Patrick & Teresa. We are known for hosting various charity nights and can accommodate many different styles of evenings. We pride ourselves on supporting local charities and our customers help us to raise lots of money throughout the year. We have 3 rooms upstairs that can be rented out. All rooms are double with modern and stylish funishings. All with private en-suite bathrooms. Tea and coffee making facilities, microwaves and mini fridges are situated in the rooms so they are fully equipped for all your needs. We are happy to have long term lets. This is my friend's 17 year old nephew, Tanner. Yesterday he was enjoying a day at Scissortail Park with his mother and younger siblings when he noticed a person struggling in the pond. Tanner's mom said he did a quick double take then without a word he was running toward the water. She had no idea what was happening but Tanner knew someone needed him. His instincts took over and this guy saved a drowning 2 year old!!! He suffered a head injury in the process and had to have staples. Police, fire and medics responded and the child's mother cried uncontrollably with gratitude. Tanner is humble, compassionate and really does not understand how much heartbreak his actions have saved a family. Share this story!! We need some feel good!!"❤
