Some of you know that one of our enduring passions is the hunt for the legendary FOREST STYRE apple.
The best example we've found as yet is growing less than 5 miles from Jolter Central - and tomorrow, John Teiser and myself will be meeting again to gather leaves for DNA analysis in Kent and Italy.
Watch this space...

The UK is home to many varieties of apples. But this ancestor of modern apples was lost – until some determined "apple detectives" set out to find it.

Choose from four traditionally made ciders, crafted from hand-picked apples grown in local unsprayed traditional orchards. (Limited soft drinks also available.)

Food is available in the village and you're very welcome to bring it down..

Please note that JOLTER is a Cider house. We don't serve beer (don't mention the beer) or spirits or the like.. there's soft drinks, tea, coffee and a small wine selection. We also don't stock any fake petrochemical fruit syrup industrial "cider" and don't even mention Tw*tch*rs 🤪

Mitcheldean Festival is traditionally the third week of July, but why not get in the mood THIS SATURDAY (6TH JUNE) with their warm up shindig?
Cider, Perry, Wine, soft drinks, tea and coffee available - first act is on at 6.20pm and you're very welcome to get your tea in the village and bring it down 🥂

It's Friday and the weekend welcomes in a new arrival from Little Pomona, Orchard & Cidery !
This is their HENDRE HUFFCAP Pet Nat 2023 PERRY, picked from Lyde Farm near Hereford, clocking in at ABV 6.7%.
James has also sent a LYDE FARM BLEND bag-in-box, which can be tasted at the bar.

Jolter is open today and tomorrow from 2-11pm for on and off sales of Three Counties Cider and Perry, all manner of related shenanigans and a proprietor with a sore eye.

Many of you will know that we sell BEEF JERKY at the bar, complete with Jolter logo don't ya know... but what of the mysterious Henry who paid us a visit a few months ago, with his mentor Alan, a Jolter regular himself?

"The name came after different rebrands as I couldn't decide. I'm Autistic and have a diagnosis if ADHD and PDA, so basically I'm good at socialising but not listening or doing things I'm asked, so running my own business is perfect as I don't get told what to do and I can do what I need to when I want! There's a lot more to it and in the long term I'd love to offer help to people who have struggled with work like I have in the past"
"The idea came from my Dad. I was used to eating regular processed store Jerky until Dad made his own and I never looked back. The next Christmas he bought me a dehydrator and within a month I decided this is the route I want to go down and here we are...
"All the Beef is sourced from my Cousin's Farm Shop in Chippenham, no imported Beef, and that is where it gets sliced for me giving me a consistent thickness. I make the marinade to my own recipe and it marinades for at least 24 hours before being dehydrated for 7 hours.
"Finally, bags are labelled, filled and hopefully being enjoyed by whoever may be reading this!"

Well done Henry, you've made a great impact in this little corner of the world.
