we are a family run local pub with skittle alley and a function room overlooking the river severn so you will have fantastic views, we have a very large garden on the banks and an area that kids of all ages love to play football and cricket. we serve excellent home cooked pub food every day, we have a pie night on a tues eve and quiz on every other sunday throughout the winter.

Hello everyone, a couple updates for you:

Our much anticipated Winter Warmer menu will be starting back up every Thursday evening, 5.30-8.30, from 22nd October.

Our Quiz Night will also be starting back up every other Sunday from 25th October. We’ve decided this year we may swap a few of the Quiz Nights for a Bingo Night here and there so keep your eyes peeled for updates.

Please remember Walk-ins are welcome but booking is always advisable as we can get quite busy on these days.

We would like to thank everyone for your generous donations yesterday at our MacMillan Coffee Morning.

We raised an amazing £1200, not including online donations given, and we couldn’t have done it without the help of everyone who joined us.

A special thank you to everyone who took the time to bake us their lovely cakes, they were all incredible.

Just a reminder for everyone our MacMillan Coffee Morning will be held on 2nd October, not 25th October, the date given out by MacMillan.

All proceeds will still be going toward the charity and coffee and cake will still be in abundance.

We are unfortunately unable to take part in the MacMillan Coffee Morning on 25th September this year…

However, as MacMillan is a charity very close to our heart here at the Anchor, we are going to hold a Coffee Morning on 2nd October instead.

🏍️ A reminder for everyone Wednesday 26th August will be the annual bike night. 🏍️

Please be aware that the car park tends to get very busy and to please be careful when parking and/or driving past the pub.

This night normally gets very busy (weather depending) so please bear with our staff as they try their hardest to to serve everyone as quickly as possible.

A little heads-up! During exceptionally busy periods or when the weather turns up the heat, our hardworking kitchen equipment can sometimes decide it’s had enough too! To keep food quality and service at the standard you expect, we may need to switch to a reduced menu at short notice while everything catches its breath (and cools down!).

We know it’s not ideal, and we’ll always do our very best to offer as much of our menu as possible for our bookings but walk ins this may be a much more limited menu

A note from Julie, Patrick & Ellise:

We just wanted to say a massive personal thank you to everyone who donated to and supported the fundraiser for Julie’s rehabilitation and care, including those who attended the bingo night. It was a wonderful evening and lovely to see so many people come together.

A special thank you goes to Karen, Lucy and Sorcha, who kindly chose to run the marathon in aid of Julie. We know it was no easy feat, especially given the heatwave and the lack of water provisions on the day. Their determination and resilience in continuing despite these challenging conditions was truly incredible, and we are so grateful. Together, they raised more than £5,000 – far more than we ever expected.

The money raised will make a real difference to Julie’s ongoing rehabilitation, helping to fund specialist therapies, including speech and language support, as she continues her recovery journey.

We are genuinely overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity and kindness. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. The support we have received means more to us than words can express, and we are so grateful 🤍
