This is The Beat District’s biggest show to date, and we’re excited to bring this DJ set to Glossop Market Hall as part of our ongoing residency.

Expect Balearic, Jazz, Dub & Downtempo.

The Beat District returns this Saturday at Glossop Market Hall 🎧

This week, Jason Boardman takes over.

With a career spanning more than 30 years, Jason’s been making a good noise in all the right places since getting his break warming up for Dave Haslam at The Hacienda in 1991.

Residencies at Yellow and Hard Times followed, before teaming up with fellow musical maverick Moonboots to create Aficionado, the nomadic social that celebrates its 28th anniversary this summer.

These days, alongside running creative enterprise Before I Die Projects, Jason continues to play his forward and backward selections at events across the country.

Expect Balearic, downtempo dub and jazz, alongside the eclectic sounds that have become Jason’s trademark.

What’s on at Glossop Market Hall this Bank Holiday weekend 👀

We’ve got a full weekend lined up across the Hall, the arcade and outside on the cobbles too.

Friday night sees the return of The Duke’s Box 🎶 A request night inspired by the Duke who built the Town Hall itself. Drop your song requests into the box, wait to see what gets summoned, and stick around for surprise drinks prizes throughout the night.

On Saturday, The Beat District takes over from 6 ’til late with another evening of DJ sets bringing laid back, feel-good sounds into the Market Hall 🪩 The Dance Project

Sunday means Sunday Sessions 🎸 Live music from local artists, curated by Project38, running 4–6pm. More background soundtrack than big gig, perfect for settling in with food and drinks.

And of course, our outdoor market traders will be here Friday and Saturday as always, bringing plenty of atmosphere to the cobbles outside.

We’re also open on Bank Holiday Monday:

With Derbyshire Makes Festival and Glossop Carnival filling the daytime.. As things wind down step into the Beat District from 6pm till late.

Soundtracked by La Familia, comprising La Presidenta - the Puertorican Princess, Pablo Blanquito, her sidekick, and Dr. Cookie, a 13 year old DJ.  Between them they guarantee sunshine vibes and good times.

They enjoy nothing more than getting people shaking what their Mamas gave them !
