🍻 ONE YEAR OF THE ANVIL INN RIDDRIE 🍻
Today marks one year since we took over The Anvil Inn.
To say it’s been a challenge would be an understatement, but when we look back at where we started and where we are today, we’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come.
Over the last 12 months we’ve transformed the whole pub, inside and out, carefully choosing every colour, every seat layout, every light fitting and every photograph to create a welcoming local that we could all be proud of.
We’ve updated and refreshed the lounge area, creating a more attractive space for functions, fundraisers, family gatherings and special occasions. Over the last year we’ve been honoured to host intimate funeral gatherings, birthday parties, anniversaries, baby showers and many other important moments in people’s lives.
We’ve continued to invest in the venue, installed all major sports packages and built a reputation for showing the biggest games and sporting events throughout the year.
Football has been at the heart of The Anvil for generations and remains a huge part of the pub today. Over the last year we’ve shared some incredible match days together, from title celebrations and cup finals to football bus trips and unforgettable afternoons and evenings with our customers.🍀🎉🍾⚽️
We’ve also brought regular entertainment to the pub every single weekend, hosting karaoke, live music and events throughout the year. 🎤🎼
Alongside this, we’ve put clear standards and rules in place that we’re proud to stand by, helping us create a well-run, welcoming local where everyone can enjoy themselves.
We’ve worked hard to keep our drinks and offers competitive with other local venues, while maintaining the standards that matter to us. We’re proud of our spotless pub, our quality pints, our entertainment and the environment we’ve created for our customers.
None of this would have been possible without our fantastic team. We are fortunate to have a strong, dedicated group of staff who work hard every day to keep standards high and look after our customers. A special thank you goes to those who have stood by us from the beginning and those who have stepped up during some very challenging times. 🙏🏻💞
Personally, this year has brought challenges that none of us could have anticipated. Alongside running three venues, dealing with staffing pressures and the day-to-day realities of the hospitality trade, my family has also faced a very difficult year following my dad’s illness and, most recently, his sudden passing.💔
Despite those challenges, we’re proud of what we’ve achieved in our first year, and there is still so much more we want to bring to The Anvil Inn
Year Two is about building on the foundations we’ve laid. We hope to bring more events to the pub, host more private functions, support local football through sponsorship, add some things throughout the summer, improve our outdoor area and, most importantly, keep making The Anvil Inn a pub that the local community can be proud of.
To every customer who has supported us, every entertainer who has performed here, every member of staff who has worked tirelessly behind the scenes, and every person who has walked through our doors over the last year…
