Hi everyone, just a little reminder that this page was run by the Gallaghers from the old Tavern and is no longer associated with the bar.

We've had many messages since we left the Tavern, from customers, entertainers, other businesses, supporters buses and general enquiries since the time we left and like the previous twice when the bar has changed hands we have started to receive many messages again now that the purchase of the bar has been made official (and no it's not Christie that's bought it 🤣).

Well this one may be the hardest post we've ever had to write but we do it from the bottom of our hearts. Today marks the final day of The Gallaghers running the best wee pub in Parkhead and where do you start when it comes to summing up 23 absolutely amazing years.

Firstly on behalf of Mr and Mrs G and their fantastic team of staff thank you all so so much for your support over the last 2 decades. We've had so many highs in the wee Tavern and even managed to manouver through the strangest time for everyone during the covid storm. The punters in this pub are honestly second to none and of all the things we'll miss, they are the biggest part. Every member of staff has made many friends over the years and you mean so much to us all.

Secondly from the staff (and myself) we want to say the biggest thank you to Mr & Mrs G. It is very difficult to sum up just how amazing these 2 bosses are but they are by far the best bosses to grace this earth and we are all so grateful for all they have done for us over the years. I know I speak for all the staff when we say it has been an absolute pleasure to work for you and your generosity has not gone unnoticed. They have created what can only be described as a very unique little family and we have all been very lucky to be part of this journey with you both.

Lastly, based on the many amazing comments we have had over the last few weeks a massive thank you from the punters to the staff and management. Like one of our very lovely customers said, without the Gallagher family and the staff in the wee tavern, this pub would not be so welcoming and friendly and many punters would not have felt at home for all these years. The whole team are a credit to this pub and have helped make it the place it has been for all these years.

We are eternally grateful for everything this 2nd home has brought us and the many many memories we take with us. Today is going to be bitter sweet for us all but we are looking forward to seeing what the future brings for this local and hope it continues to be the best wee pub in Parkhead!

From tomorrow we'll see you all on the other side of the bar to start creating new memories in a place we will have in our hearts forever but for now cheers to The Gallagher family, The Tavern staff and The Tavern punters who together have made this pub a family for 23 years 💚

Well the last Celtic home game at the wee Tavern under the management of the Gallaghers turned out to be an absolute fantastic day from start to finish.

There were tears from the get go when our resident supporters bus presented some beautiful gifts, which we are so thankful for. To see Christie become the first honorary member was something very special and we can't thank them enough for choosing the tavern all those years ago and supporting all the things this wee pub does too 🍀

To all of our travelling buses we want to thank you all for your continued support over the years, with many of our buses being there from the very beginning and sticking with us over all the years. Your generosity and kindness has never gone unnoticed and we thank you all for treating our staff so well, week in, week out. We have genuinely made so many friends over the years with you all and you have all took this wee pub and made it your parkhead home and we're honoured you chose to pop in and never leave 💚

23 unforgettable years, countless trophies, many celebrations and a team of staff over the years which have made this wee pub the best in parkhead and in our opinion the best place to be before and after every celtic home game.

What a moment yesterday too, to see all the staff on shift out for a final photo with the big cup before it left for its new home too!

We'll see you on flag day in our new seats at the other side of the bar ...

Well the final quiz certainly went out with a bang!

A fantastic turnout with 8 teams competing for the final title of tavern quiz winners and we had some great scores across the board tonight.

With a quiz themed to suit the 'wee tavern' we want to thank everyone who came along and those who have been part of all our quizzes over the years.

Congratulations to our final winning team - Criss Cross who were lucky enough to win not only the quiz but also play your cards right on the night.

Thank you to every one of our teams and also to our quiz hosts over the years too. Another great night which has started off what is going to be an amazing last few days

Well as far as nights at the wee tavern go last night was up there with one of the best 💚

Thank you to all of our regulars who came along and celebrated 23 amazing years!

A special thanks to Mr & Mrs G for putting on such a fantastic night for everyone too.

The dancefloor was full and it may have been the best 'I'm alive' huddle ever 💚

A few tears, lots of laughs and some very heartwarming speeches from the boss and some of our favourite locals (Wee Ann just so you know we have your mic here)

2 weeks to go ladies and gents and still some celebrating left to do...

Please note - this Friday night we are celebrating our regulars with a wee night just for them therefore the pub will be closed from 7pm to the public.

Tickets only, so unfortunately anyone without a ticket will not be able to pop in on Friday night.

It's a busy month and after a successful night last week celebrating our Domino team and a few weeks of celebrations planned for our football supporters and buses, we look forward to an evening this week celebrating some extra special punters who have supported this wee local, week in, week out over the last year too.

On Saturday we will have our usual rules in place for Celtic V Rangers games with the pub opening at 2.30pm and closing at 9.30pm - as normal, Regulars only and non-regulars will be refused entry (please don't take offence with the staff, we've stuck to these rules for years)

Some good news has finally been confirmed for the Wee Tavern - the doors will officially be staying open!

Although it will be under new management we know our regulars and supporters buses will be pleased to hear they can still visit their favourite wee pub in Parkhead and Christie can't wait to have a pint with you all once he hangs up his boots 💚

We all look forward to heading along and supporting the pub once the changeover happens at the end of May but until then we can't wait to celebrate what has been an amazing 23 years under the guidance of Mr & Mrs G! They've got 3 weeks left so let's make them the best yet...
