Twechar Miners Welfare & Social Club Twechar Miners Welfare & Social Club is a social club offering three Halls for various gatherings an Non-members must pay a fee of £25 when hiring the big hall.

Twechar Miners Welfare & Social Club is available for all kinds of events such as; Birthday Parties, Christenings, Communions, Weddings, Christmas Parties, Work Nights, Charity Nights and Funerals. We have three function rooms available:

The Front Lounge seats around 60 people, with the use of a dance floor, disco lights.. The Small Lounge seats around 50 people with the use of the jukebox and d

ance floor. The Big Hall seats around 130 people with use of the kitchen, stage and spotlights, buffet tables and a large dance floor. All halls have been recently decorated and now have a modern contemporary look. The kitchen is available for use in all halls if not already booked by the big hall. Bookings can be made through this page or inside the social club with a member of staff or committee. Provisional bookings can also be made via the telephone: 01236 822237. (All bookings are provisional bookings until a letter has been handed in stating which hall you would like and for which purpose. Your letter will then need to be passed by committee and you will be notified if the hall(s) are available.)

Lets give it one final push for our Light up Twechar project at our final event next saturday.

Funds raised will cover the final installation invoice as well as supplies for the first ever Twechar Switch on taking place Saturday 26th November.

We will have delicious Indian cuisine supplied by our local shopkeeper Raj. We will have DJ Finn on the decks, we have our unbeatable bar prices from the Miners Club, we will have some Bingo fun (Mary Whiteford Mcpherson will not be responsible for the bingo books 🤣) as well as a prize draw on the night.

All of this for £15 it can't be missed.

🎳 TMWC Bowling Green – Time to Get the Ball Rolling Again? 🎳

We’re counting down to 100 years of the Twechar Miners Welfare Club Bowling Green … and wondering if it's time for a fresh start?

The green’s been out of action since Covid and could do with a serious facelift. We’ve got a real chance to apply for a grant to bring it back to life — but need to make sure it’s something the community actually wants first.

Whether that means restoring the bowling green or turning it into something new, we want to get your thoughts.
