There's a massive weekend of football ahead and you can enjoy it all on our large LED screens....

On Saturday the Championship play-off final, Hull City v Middlesbrough, kicks off at 15:30hrs. Then onto Sunday and its the final game of the season for the Toon. Fulham v NUFC, kick-offs 16:00hrs.

Today is an important day in history...
In 1770 Captain Cook landed at Botany Bay. In 1945 the German army in Italy surrendered to Allied Troops. In 2011 Prince William married Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey. More importantly, in 2010, Michelle Kane began work here at the Gateshead Arms. In that time she's served enough pints to fill an olympic swimming pool. Congratulations Michelle! I think we should put a commemorative plaque on your favourite beer pump 🤣

A look back in time....
In the early 1830s when the Gateshead Arms first opened its oak door the world was a very different place. William IV was on the throne, Napoleon was President of France and Newcastle United were yet to be formed. We are extremely proud to have served the people of Gateshead for over 195 years, And no! Michelle wasn't manageress back then 🤣
