Stacey Bone, the founder of Funnybones Creations is an Illustrator and Designer living and working in Washington Tyne and Wear. The delicacy of the paper and the intricate details of the paper cut contrast wonderfully with Stacey’s silhouette style. Inspired by places and landmarks, Stacey’s work includes a range of paper cuttings themed around the North East of England.

I’ve been trying my best to reply throughout the day, signal wasn’t the greatest at the wetlands so I’ll be spending a bit time going through all the lovely comments.

🎨 Normality is looming ✍🏻 We’ve been enjoying some much needed family time this last week and it’s been wonderful.

I’ve lots to catch up on when back especially getting my first children’s book illustrations finished up and sent over to the awesome typesetter that is as well as finishing up the cutest first birthday bunting I’ve had the privilege of being asked to paint.

Normal work flow will resume on Tuesday so for now I’m making the most of the cocktails and pool ✌🏻

Probably the most sentimental cut to date. Drawn from a photo of the two of us on my wedding day. Oh that smile of his was the cheekiest. In loving memory of my little brother, six whole years without you and seeing that beautiful smile and hearing that infectious laugh.

What is it made from?

Surprisingly I get asked this a lot. I’ve had my paper cuts mistaken for: vinyl stickers, a painted silhouette, a print on clothing… maybe I need a new way to photograph them 🤔

The card-stock I use is made in the Lake District World Heritage Site.

🌳 It’s sourced from sustainable forests.

💧The papermill where it’s made also commit to water management and waste reduction.
