HAVE YOUR SAY ON THE FUTURE OF GLENDINNING ELC 📢
As Glendinning Primary School celebrates an outstanding 150 years at the heart of the Galashiels community, we are now looking ahead to the future legacy we leave for the generations to come.
Scottish Borders Council is carrying out a full review of the Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) provision at Glendinning Primary School, following the temporary closure of the ELC in April 2025. This was due to health and safety concerns relating to the building, which has since been demolished.
The review is looking at the current demand for an ELC at Glendinning, with the views of local families and the wider community forming an important part of the process.
💬 There are two community drop-in sessions at Glendinning Primary School:
📅 Wednesday 30 September | 3.30–5.30pm
📅 Thursday 1 October | 3.30–5.30pm
If you are unable to attend, you can also share your views through the online consultation survey, which is open until 20 October 2026. You do not need to have a child at Glendinning to contribute.

👉 As we celebrate 150 years of Glendinning, this is an important opportunity for the whole of the Galashiels community to have their say. We want to protect our school for many more generations to come and a nursery is vital for sustaining our intake as children naturally move into Primary 1. Your individual and collective voice truly matters.
Please share all you can - thank you! 💙
