🥃 We’re proud to be supporting a very special Kiltwalk team! 🥾🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Some fantastic people who regularly come through our doors Tom and Martin are taking on the Kiltwalk to raise money for Prostate Scotland.

As they put it:

“We all know a grandfather, father, brother, son or friend — a man — who has been or will be diagnosed with prostate cancer. Recently, this happened to a friend of ours.”

Their friend reminded them just how important it is for men to have regular PSA tests, and now they want to pass that message on to every man reading this.

💙 Early awareness can save lives.

Their Kiltwalk isn’t just about raising money — it’s about helping to raise awareness of prostate cancer and supporting men and families affected by the disease.

So please show them some love, give them a big cheer when you see them in their kilts, and if you can, consider supporting their fundraising efforts. Every donation, no matter how big or small, can make a difference.

And most importantly, we’ve raised an amazing £600 so far! 🎉 This will be split between Cash for Kids Forth 1, Freuchie in Flower and Freuchie Food Bank (Lumsden Larder).

🧶 Stitch & Blether tonight! 🧶

We had another lovely evening at the pub for Stitch & Blether, with some fascinating things going on! This week, the ladies were busy combing wool and spinning it into yarn — it was brilliant to see the skills, stories and conversations being shared. 🐑🧶

Stitch & Blether runs every Tuesday from 7–9pm in the lounge.

Whether you fancy bringing along your own craft, learning something new, having a blether, or simply enjoying a drink and some company, everyone is welcome! ❤️

🍎 CIDER TASTING NIGHT – NEW DATE! 🍏

A quick update for everyone who was looking forward to our Cider Tasting Night tomorrow…

Due to lower numbers than we’d hoped for, we’ve decided to move the evening to the 17th of October.

And actually, there couldn’t be a better time for it! October falls right in the heart of the UK apple harvest season, so it’s a pretty fitting time to celebrate all things cider. 🍎🍻

The same great evening is still planned, with 4 fantastic local cider reps joining us. You’ll get the chance to:

🍏 Sample a few ciders from each company
🍏 Hear the stories behind the ciders and the people who make them
🍏 Pick up some cider knowledge, tips and expertise from the reps themselves
🍏 Enjoy a selection of delicious meats & cheeses alongside the tasting

£25 per head

If you’re already on the list for tomorrow, don’t worry — you’ll automatically be kept on the list for the new date. If you can’t make 17th October, just let us know and we’ll sort it out.

Hopefully the new date gives a few more of you the chance to join us for what should be a brilliant evening of local cider, good food and plenty of chat! 🍎🥂

Our Cider Tasting Night is getting closer! 🍻🍏

Join us on the 22nd of August for an evening of fantastic cider, great company, and delicious meats & cheeses to pair with each tasting. 🧀

What a turn out!🪩💃🍾

Well… Dancing Queen certainly got a run for her money! What a way to send Islay off in style! 🕺💃

A massive thank you to everyone who came along, dressed up, danced, sang, drank and generally behaved, it was a great night.

A huge shoutout to Nessie, Mo, Nigel and Peter for all their help with the food— we couldn’t have pulled it off without you! And a massive thank you to Lauren for all the time, effort and graft you put in to make Islay’s leaving do extra special. You absolutely smashed it! 👏🏼🪩

There was glitter, there was dancing, there was ABBA… and there were definitely a few people who thought they were auditioning for Mamma Mia 3! 😂🎤

Islay, you are going to be sadly missed. We hope your next adventure is every bit as brilliant as you are — although don’t be thinking you’re getting away from us that easily! 😉Now go and be your own Dancing Queen…
