I was out again yesterday, putting out another sign.
On the B3078 Roger Penny Way.
FOAL OPHANED DUE TO COLLISION....
The driver did stop and reported this, and the Police attended and closed the road.
The collision was about 3.30 am.
But I want to break this down, look at the debris from the car, windscreen wipers, wheel arches and headlight glass. The car was recovered, but I am aiming to get a photo of it.
If you drive across the New Forest, would you want this to happen to you?
I am using this picture as an example, as I see so many issues. The red marker is the back leg of the mare that had to be shot by the Agister due to her broken pelvis.
The BIG Yellow 40mph on the road.
The obvious disrespect for New Forest Commoners Livestock.
The Agister caught her 14 day old foal, The Commoner is now having to bring her on without her mother. I hope this little one will survive without her mother!
While I was putting the sign out I spent time with the mare, gave her a pat and say sorry to her. I try so hard to prevent these collisions, but I take them all personally.
