Hope everyone had a cracking Speyfest weekend and there aren’t too many sore heads this morning! 🍻

Unfortunately, with a number of people unable to make it and the likelihood of the bridge works still being ongoing, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Red Lion Charity Golf Day at Maverston.

Thank you to everyone who said they were interested in coming, we are sorry to disappoint.

Also thank you to everyone that has helped make the event such a success in the past few years, Fiona and the staff at The Red Lion more so than anyone!

This certainly isn’t the end of the event, we’ll be back in the future. However, if we can’t do it properly, we’d rather wait until we can.

Instead, we’re going to make a donation to a local charity. If you have any suggestions for a worthy cause, please pop them in the comments below!

⛳ Would You Be Interested? ⛳

We're looking at bringing back the Red Lion Charity Golf Day and wanted to gauge interest before making the final decision.

The provisional date is:
📅 Saturday 5th September 2026
📍 Maverston Golf Club
⏰ First tee off: 10:30am

The plan would be: 🥓 Bacon rolls before the round 🍻 A couple of drinks for the course ⛳ 18 holes of golf 🏆 Individual prizes 🎟️ Charity raffle 🔨 Charity auction

Entry would be £25 per person, with all proceeds helping to raise money for a local charity.

We've already had a few people mention they're away that weekend, so before we commit to organising everything we'd love to know if there's enough interest.

If you'd be interested in playing, please give this post a 👍, leave a comment, or tag anyone who might like to take part.

If we get enough support, we'll get everything confirmed and open bookings.
