Where’s Charlotte?

Charlotte, and her fellow winning finalists, have gone away with to Lausanne, Switzerland.

They’ve been spending time at EHL, an award winning hospitality school, and visiting some of the local vineyards.

As much as we’re missing her presence at Tide, we can’t wait for Charlotte to come back and show us what she’s learned!

Welcome to Tide.

On Wednesday, we held a soft launch. An evening for the Flushing community to get together, enjoy each others company, and see the results of our hard work.

Safe to say, it went pretty well.

We’re over the moon that everyone had a great time, and it’s been lovely to see people returning over the first few days of service.

Sun, sea, and seating - swipe to see the before.

One of the most important aspects of Tide is the waterfront location, so getting the outside seating correct was vital in the renovation.

Previously, the front door was covered by a tent, which divided the space & limited the light that came inside.

There were multicolour lights on the building, but they didn’t provide enough light to enjoy a sunset drink.

We’ve put new fittings finished in a brass that complements the green woodwork beautifully, and added some mature olive trees for a touch of greenery.

One of the biggest changes is on the floor. Having something to frame the space, and bring some life to the concrete was much needed. The weathered checkerboard was achieved using black paint and a wooden square.

The benches stayed, but had a good clean down and some new numbers painted on, as well as new parasols.

The result is a place to sit and soak in the beauty of the natural harbour, that blends in to the area.
