Just a quick update for all. As of 22nd November The Cottage Inn has been listed for bidding through the Community Asset scheme meaning groups of the community can place bids on the property and land before it is listed to the public, (t&cs apply) Myself and Ellie are still very hopeful we can get the Cottage back up and running ourselves, however I would like to take this opportunity to explain that in North Warwickshire’s announcement ‘The owner of the Cottage’ is the brewery and not myself. The pub is still very much everything to me and my family and we will do our utmost best to get it back for everyone to enjoy. We will update you all in due course. Thank you for your continued patience and support!
The Cottage Inn, Fillongley as a Community Asset
The owner of The Cottage Inn has informed the Borough Council that they plan to sell the above property.
There is now a 6-week interim moratorium period (until 3rd January 2025), during which community groups can express, in writing, an interest in being considered as a potential bidder to buy the property.
How to Submit a Bid
Bids must be sent in writing to the council at [email protected].
Who can bid?
The group must meet certain requirements to be eligible to bid. Eligible groups include:
Parish councils, charities, community interest companies, and companies or societies that don’t distribute profits to members and operate for the benefit of North Warwickshire or neighbouring areas.
Additionally, the group must be connected to the local area, meaning their activities should involve North Warwickshire or its neighbouring areas.
