🧠🍛 **WOW! WE'RE FULLY BOOKED!** 🎉

What a fantastic response to our first Curry & Quiz Night! Thank you to everyone who's booked a table — clearly Filleigh has plenty of people keen to show off their brainpower! 😂

With a full house, we've decided to shake up the running order a little so everyone can enjoy their curry without having to answer questions between mouthfuls!

🧠 **6:30pm (ish)** – Let the quizzing begin! Rounds 1 & 2

🍛 **7:30pm** – Curry time! A well-earned break to refuel those brains.

🧠 **8:30pm (ish)** – Back to business with the remaining rounds.

🏆 And don't forget — the winning team takes the entire entry pot, with a bottle of w**e for our runners-up!

🌰 Fancy yourself as a bit of a conker legend?

It’s time to GO BONKERS FOR CONKERS at the Stags Head Inn, Filleigh on Thursday 29th October — and yes, we are fully expecting things to get unnecessarily competitive. 😂

The kids get first crack at it from 3pm, then the adults take over from 5:30pm.

🌰 Kids 11–17: £1 per conker
🌰 Adults: £2 per conker

And before anyone starts secretly baking, varnishing, soaking or otherwise “preparing” a suspiciously indestructible champion conker… don’t bother. 😄
We’ll be providing all the conkers on the day to keep things fair.

🍽️ Meal for two for the adult champion

🥽 Safety goggles provided — because apparently we have to be sensible somewhere

Best of all, it’s all in aid of the West Buckland Village Hall extension.

We’ve got six rounds covering General Knowledge, Food & Drink, Music, Film & TV, Devon & the World, Science & Technology and a few thrown in just to cause arguments around the table. 😁

☀️ The sun’s out, the market’s on… sounds like a good excuse for lunch!

If you’re out and about today, pop into The Stags Head Inn, Filleigh for a bite to eat and make the most of the sunshine while it lasts.

We’ve decided to shake things up a bit this week… 😄

Our **2 for £20 menu is completely new** for Monday and Tuesday, with a bunch of dishes we’re thinking about adding to the main menu.

Basically, we cook them, you eat them, and then you tell us which ones deserve to stay. Seems fair.

✨ Weekend Job Opportunity at The Stags Head Inn ✨

We’re looking for a washer upper / kitchen assistant to join our team.

This would be ideal for someone aged 16–18 looking for a part-time job alongside school or college. No experience is needed as full training will be given.

The regular shifts available are:

Saturday evenings
Sunday lunchtimes

These are the only regular shifts we can offer at the moment, although there may occasionally be extra hours available to cover holidays, busy periods or other team members.

It’s a busy role, so you’ll need to be reliable, happy to work hard and willing to get stuck in — but we’ve got a friendly, sociable team and we want the Stags Head to be a fun place to work too.

Please only apply if you can regularly work BOTH Saturday evenings and Sunday lunchtimes.
