Situated on the border of Feering and Kelvedon, this Grade II listed building with heavily carved beams dating back to the 16th century focuses on fine real ales and excellent home cooked food. Join us in the winter for roaring log fires or in our large beautiful mature garden or cosy courtyard in the summer months. Children are encouraged to bring well behaved adults, dogs with owners, ramblers (

pre bookable available), and people who want to relax in a warm friendly atmosphere, enjoying a pint or more of real ale and eating a home cooked meal. Staying as a true public house, The Sun Inn has a no booking policy except for parties with seven or more. Therefore we do advise early arrival to avoid disappointment. Our focus is to provide high quality locally sourced food at reasonable prices. We operate as a traditional pub, where you get served at the bar to start with. Whilst your dining we will gladly organise drinks for you. When you have finished your meal, maybe we can tempt you with one of our homemade desserts or another award winning, well kept ale?

A new vision for The Sun Inn, Feering ☀️

We know that for most parents, enjoying a meal after a busy week or a relaxing drink in the beer garden - is made even better when children have a safe & entertaining space nearby.

Our new enclosed adventure playground! 🤩
Explore, climb & burn-off energy while remaining within easy sight. Transforming over 100 square metres this exciting new addition forms part of our vision to make the pub a more welcoming destination for families, friends & dogs.

Whilst we’re sad to see the organic vegetable patch go, it has given us the opportunity to create something that better serves the many families who visit us throughout the year. Our investment in this space reflects our commitment to creating an environment that works for modern family life whilst respecting the character & heritage of this wonderful historic pub.

We can’t wait to welcome families, friends & four-legged companions to enjoy the new space this summer! Come see what we’ve been working on this weekend! 🐶🍻

Join us this Sunday — we’re open from 12pm and serving food right through until 7pm 🍽️

Booking for inside tables is strongly advised.
Outside tables are not bookable, but we have plenty of seating available in both our courtyard and garden 🌿

We’re family friendly, with garden toys to keep the little ones entertained, and dogs are always welcome too 🐾
