Happy St. George’s Day!
Why do we celebrate,
St. George's Day, is celebrated on April 23rd, honors England's patron saint, known for the legend of slaying a dragon to save a princess. Historically, George was a 3rd-century Roman soldier born in Cappadocia (modern Turkey) who was executed in 303 AD for refusing to renounce his Christian faith, becoming a martyr.

Somethings you may not know,
The Legend of St. George and the Dragon
The Dragon's Terror: A plague-bearing dragon lived in a lake in Silene (often thought to be in Libya), terrorizing a town.
The Sacrifice: The villagers sacrificed sheep to appease the dragon, but when sheep ran out, they had to sacrifice their children, chosen by lottery.
The Princess: One day, the lot fell upon the king’s daughter, who was sent to the lake in her wedding dress.
The Hero: St. George was passing by, heard the plight, and vowed to kill the beast.
The Victory: With a lance called Ascalon, George battled the dragon, defeated it, and rescued the princess, prompting the town to convert to Christianity.
