It's Quiz Night tomorrow at the Golden Bowler Pub, with another evening of friendly competition, plenty of laughs and the chance to claim those all-important bragging rights!

Starting at 8:30pm, our fortnightly quiz mixes current affairs, music, pictures, general knowledge and topical questions, so there's something for everyone. Whether you're a seasoned quiz regular or just fancy a fun night out with friends, it's a great way to put your knowledge to the test.

There's cash to be won, glory to be earned, and of course the age-old question remains... whose round is it?

There’s far more than pints being poured in the community this month… 🍻🎭

Our friends at Crofton Amateur Dramatics Society (CADS) are bringing their summer comedy show "Change of Plan" to the Crofton Community Centre from 18th–20th June, starting at 7:30pm each night.

Tickets are just £12 for adults - which is a lot cheaper than some theatre trips these days! 😄

The cast and crew spend months learning lines, building sets, sorting costumes and rehearsing to make these shows happen, so it would be lovely to see them performing to packed houses.

If you fancy a good laugh and a great local night out, please support your local Am Dram group and get along if you can. Community groups like this deserve it 👏

Sun’s shining and the garden’s calling ☀️

Pub local Scott was back this afternoon showing off his magical new way of paying for a round 🍻⭐️

Apparently he’s “gone contactless now”… technically he’s not wrong.

Kevin asked, “Card or cash?”
Scott replied: “✨Yes✨”

Nothing says responsible adult quite like paying for beer with a magic wand. Proof that tipsy Amazon purchases should probably require a breathalyser before checkout.

Scott apparently decided the pub needed its first certified fairy-contactless payment system.

He came in for one pint and left with the final evolution of Apple Pay…

Whisky of the Week (WOW) is back for round three… and we’re sailing around to the Isle of Islay - but not quite in the way you might expect.

This week’s feature is Bunnahabhain Stiùireadair, a beautifully sherried single malt from the island’s north-east coast, guided by the spirit of the sea and named in honour of the “Helmsman” on every Bunnahabhain bottle!

Unlike many of its Islay neighbours, this dram keeps the peat well out of the picture. Instead, it leans into rich waves of dried fruit, toffee sweetness, warming spice, and a soft coastal salinity that quietly reminds you of its maritime home.

It’s unpeated, smooth, and dangerously easy to enjoy - a different side of Islay that often catches people off guard in the best way.

Part of WOW is showing just how much variety lives inside single malts, and this is a perfect example. Same island, completely different journey.

What a night at Bowler Bingo last night! ☀️🎉

Despite the temperatures soaring well above the May average, you lot still packed the pub out and made it another fantastic evening at the Golden Bowler!

We had some brilliant characters taking home the cash prizes, plenty of laughs, and even TWO double winners - not on the same table, but somehow both sat in the same area of the pub! Must’ve been the lucky corner 🍀💷

A massive thank you to everyone who braved the heat and came out to play. The atmosphere was sizzling and it was lovely seeing so many smiling faces.
