๐พ SOโฆ WHO IS THE WEE WHITE DOG? ๐พ
You might know us. You might have eaten our food. You might have even seen our little white dog popping up on your feedโฆ
But who actually is the The Wee White Dog? ๐ถ
Well, are a family-run catering business, founded back in 2014 by Stevie Duffie.
After a long career in finance, Stevie decided it was time to follow his real passionโฆ. feeding folk! ๐ด
And so, The Wee White Dog was born.
The name itself comes from two very special members of our family, our much-loved Westies, Scoobie & Mollie, who are sadly no longer with us. โค๏ธ They were a huge part of our family, and their little faces became the inspiration behind the name that has stuck with us ever since.
We started out providing outside catering for parties and events, before moving into golf club catering at Grangemouth Golf Club. From there, we moved to Linlithgow Golf Club, where we are still proudly serving both members and non-members today.
And this year, we took another big step and opened our catering & bar operation at The West Lothian Golf Club.
Now weโre getting ready for our next adventureโฆ Braes Golf Centre! โณ๏ธ
So, what do we actually do?
Wellโฆ quite a lot! ๐
From catering at our golf clubs, to birthday parties, weddings, funerals and everything in between, we love being part of peopleโs special occasions. We also provide corporate lunches for some fantastic local businesses.
But at the heart of everything we do is proper grub.
Stevie is a perfectionist when it comes to food and loves nothing more than experimenting with new flavours, putting his own spin on dishes and, of course, perfecting the classics.
Heโs also got a slightly quirky imagination when it comes to menusโฆ so if youโve ever wondered where some of our unusual dish names come from, you can probably blame Stevie! ๐
And weโre not just a family run businessโฆ. weโre quite literally a family business. โค๏ธ
There are currently over 8 members of our family involved in Wee White Dog, alongside a brilliant team of loyal staff who have become part of the family too.
Stevieโs wife, Lynne, works tirelessly alongside him, helping to keep everything moving and making the business what it is today.
Over the last 12 years, weโve had plenty to be proud of. From surviving COVID thanks to the incredible support of our customers, to opening at multiple golf clubs, building a loyal following and receiving 100% customer ratings across our social media.
Weโve now grown to over 2,000 followers, and one of the highlights of this year was receiving such a fantastic review from The Forth Valley Food Guy. ๐ฅนโค๏ธ
But honestly, our favourite achievement is much simplerโฆ
Seeing the same faces coming back through our doors time and time again.
We love getting to know our customers. We love becoming part of the local community. And we feel incredibly lucky whenever someone chooses us to cater one of the big moments in their life.
Whether itโs a quiet coffee after a round of golf, a family celebration, a wedding, a funeral tea, a corporate lunch or simply a plate of proper grubโฆ
we want you to feel comfortable, welcome and happy when youโre with us. โค๏ธ
And now, weโre hoping to bring a little bit of that Wee White Dog magic to the Falkirk area.
Weโre incredibly excited to be joining the fantastic team at Braes Golf Centre and canโt wait to welcome both golfers and the wider local community through the doors.
