We’re really excited to be working with the brilliant .mushroom.farm bringing some beautiful locally grown speciality mushrooms into the Red Lion kitchen this weekend.

Our chefs have got their hands on an incredible selection of Black Pearl, Grey Oyster, Pink Oyster and Yellow Oyster mushrooms — and they’re putting them to very good use…

We’re a proper pub. But we’re pretty serious about our food.

This Friday it’s Fish & Fizz — our regular beer-battered fish & chips, served with hand-cut chips, mushy peas, homemade tartare sauce and lemon.

Cake donations home made or bought can also be dropped off at The Red Lion if more convenient.

There is just one small problem with us taking part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning…

We don’t do coffee.

And, if we’re completely honest, mornings aren’t really our thing either. 😂

So we’re turning it on its head!

💚 FRIDAY 25TH SEPTEMBER | OPENING EARLY FROM 3PM 💚

For one Friday only, we’re opening early for our MACMILLAN COFFEE AFTERNOON — and families are very welcome to join us.

There’ll be plenty of cake and soft drinks alongside our slightly more White Hart take on a coffee morning…

🍺 Or just a good old-fashioned pint!

We’ll be raising money throughout the afternoon for Macmillan Cancer Support, with donations from our special drinks and cake going into the fundraising pot.

We’re looking for cakes, traybakes, brownies and other goodies to sell by the slice. Bring your creation into the pub and we’ll do our best to sell the lot for Macmillan!

So forget coffee and cake at 10am… come down at a far more civilised hour, have a drink, eat some cake and help us raise a few quid for a brilliant cause. 💚

❤️🎶 LIONAID 4 – WHAT A DAY! 🎶❤️

A HUGE thank you to absolutely everyone who came along and made LionAid 4 such an incredible day.

☀️ The sun shone ALL day
🎸 The standard of every single act was absolutely incredible
🍻 The atmosphere was brilliant
❤️ And, most importantly, together we raised an amazing £1,579.06 for charity!

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better day. Thank you to all of the fantastic bands and artists who gave their time and talent, everyone who donated prizes, bought raffle tickets, helped behind the scenes, worked their socks off on the day, and of course everyone who simply turned up, had a drink, enjoyed the music and supported LionAid.

Alongside the money raised, we also collected food donations for Eynsham Food Bank, and here’s the lovely Pam Thiele collecting them after the event. 🥫❤️

We’d really love to make this side of LionAid even bigger next year. It’s so easy for the food collection to get a little lost amongst the music, raffle and everything else going on, but those tins, packets and everyday essentials make a genuine difference locally.

So for LionAid 5, we’re setting ourselves a challenge — not only to raise even more money, but to collect a LOT more food too! 🥫🥫🥫

Seeing our pub buzzing, listening to brilliant live music in the sunshine and watching our community come together to support fantastic causes is exactly what LionAid is all about.

£1,579.06 raised, food collected and a brilliant day had by all.
