Looking for something a little different at Exmouth Festival?

We're delighted to welcome Four of Swords, an award-winning theatre company renowned for creating immersive, imaginative and unforgettable performances in some of the South West's most unusual spaces.

Founded in Exeter, Four of Swords have built a reputation for bringing classic stories to life through bold storytelling, striking visuals and experiences that draw audiences right into the action. From historic buildings and caves to unexpected outdoor locations, their productions are anything but ordinary.

Expect creativity, atmosphere and a performance that will leave you talking long after the final scene.

Whether you're a theatre lover or simply curious to experience something new during the festival, this is one not to miss.

Saxon Tales
Inspired by the epic poem Beowulf and other Anglo-Saxon and Germanic sources, this performance explores our own indigenous mythology, rich with strangeness, heroism and moral ambiguity, wrapped up into an exciting and bombastic ritual performance.

Enter a mythic landscape, and encounter wild and ancient tales of heroes, gods and giants. Precious fragments of Anglo-Saxon narratives, the foundation stones of English culture, draw on the uncanny presence of the sea and the liminal spaces where human and monstrous worlds collide...

If you love quick wit, ridiculous situations and the kind of comedy where absolutely nobody knows what’s about to happen next… this one is for you.

Odd Socks are bringing their completely improvised comedy night to Exmouth Festival on Thursday 9th July at the Manor Hotel.

Think “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” chaos mixed with audience participation, fast-thinking performers and plenty of moments that spiral gloriously out of control.

No scripts. No rehearsed punchlines. Just outrageous games, audience suggestions and a room full of laughter.

The best part? You help shape the show. Shout out your ideas and watch the cast somehow turn them into comedy gold… or complete disaster.

Either way, it’s going to be very funny.

Something a little bit magical, chaotic and completely unlike anything else is coming to Exmouth Festival…

Madame Thespia’s Deliciously Diverse Cabaret arrives at Exmouth Pavilion Café on Saturday 11th July for an evening of comedy, music, poetry, storytelling and wonderfully unexpected performances.

After building a cult following through Exeter and Torbay, Madame Thespia and her long-suffering companion Gustave LeGrump are bringing their gloriously inclusive open mic night to Exmouth for the very first time.

This is a celebration of creativity in all its forms, with a special focus on platforming under-represented voices including neurodiverse, LGBTQ+, non-binary, global majority and emerging artists.

Audience members are very much encouraged to dress up too. This year’s theme is “Gaia & The Green Man” — the weirder the better — with a prize for best costume.

Want to perform but feeling nervous? There are also two free workshops at Exmouth Library ahead of the festival to help build confidence and prepare performers for the night.

Tickets are available now:

Expect laughter, surprises, brilliant local talent and a very memorable evening.

Originally from South Africa and now based in Devon, Rowan Stuart creates atmospheric alternative music that feels both rhythmic and ethereal ✨
Blending soulful vocals, intricate guitar work, organic-electronic grooves and cinematic soundscapes, his songs move between reflective intimacy and expansive emotional release — exploring themes of longing, belonging, imagination, melancholy and quiet hope.
Backed by Exeter-based musicians Mattie James on bass and Mitch Pike on percussion, Rowan’s live performances build from stillness into immersive, emotionally charged crescendos that draw audiences completely into the moment.
