🌶️ BLUE BELL X THE ROAD FROM KARACHI! 🔔🇵🇰
This Saturday marks 8 weeks since the fire stopped us trading at the Blue Bell.
It’s been an incredibly difficult and stressful time for the business and our brilliant team — but we’ve been completely buoyed by the support from Emsworth and beyond. We’ve even had messages from the USA, Australia, Thailand and the Alps! 🌍❤️
While we work towards reopening, we’ve been keeping Team Blue Bell together with some great experiences — from padel at 🎾 to swapping our kitchen for at this week.
We were hosted by the fantastic Nadia and her mum Khalida from 🇵🇰🌶️
What a story: Nadia’s parents arrived in Portsmouth on their honeymoon, a treasured family cookbook was lost for around 30 years, later rediscovered and even featured on BBC’s all while their journey has helped fund almost 180 clean-water pumps around the world. 💧👏
Then it was our turn! Authentic spices, family recipes, cooking in pairs, plenty of laughs and a bit of healthy competition. 👨‍🍳🔥
There was a personal connection too my Grandpa Tom was born in Bombay, so curry has always played a part in our family… although the Friday-night takeaway may have helped!
After eight difficult weeks, nights like this really matter.
Food. Family. Community. Teamwork.
The pub may still be closed, but Team Blue Bell is together, smiling and determined to come Back Stronger. 🔔❤️
Huge thanks to and everyone continuing to support us.
And, in the words of beanpole striker … BACK STRONGER! His podcast got me through Covid and it’s helping me through this too, so I’m officially passing the pod! 🎙️😂

When a business like The Blue Bell is forced to close following a fire, the impact reaches far beyond our own front door.
Our closure means fewer orders for the fantastic local suppliers who normally keep our kitchen stocked and during what should be one of the busiest times of the year, that really matters.
So while we’re unable to buy from them, you can! 💙

🍷 SUPPLIER SPOTLIGHT — HERITAGE CELLARS 🍾

When a pub like ours is forced to close because of a fire, the impact reaches much further than just our front door

Our staff are affected, our customers miss their local, but there’s also a knock-on effect for the brilliant local supplierswho would normally be delivering to us week after week particularly during what should be one of the busiest times of the year.

One of those businesses is The Wine Whisperer , run by Alistair, who has been part of Emsworth’s hospitality scene for many years and has been a long-standing supplier and supporter of The Blue Bell.

So while we’re temporarily unable to order our usual wine, we’d love our customers to help us support the people who support us.

A huge thank you to The Shed Chidham for hosting the Blue Bell team today! 🎾💙
After a long five weeks without The Blue Bell, it was exactly what we needed, some fun, plenty of laughs, a bit of healthy competition and, most importantly, time together as a team.

We absolutely loved playing padel & what a fantastic place The Shed is. But it’s clear that The Shed is much more than just a sports facility, it’s a community. That really struck a chord with us because, in many ways, that’s exactly what a great pub should be too: a place where people come together, make friends, socialise and feel part of something.
For any local businesses looking for a different team-building or social day, we’d definitely recommend giving The Shed a try.

A big thank you as well to Millstream | Video Production for joining us & capturing some new photos & footage 📸🎥. We’ve got some exciting projects coming up, & it was great to work with another brilliant local Emsworth business. If your company needs video, photography or social content, they’re well worth speaking to.

And to top off a positive day, we finally had some good news from the insurance company! A building contractor is visiting the Blue Bell site tomorrow, so hopefully this is another important step towards getting us back open.

It’s been a tough five weeks, but today was a great reminder of what the Blue Bell family is all about, community, supporting local businesses & enjoying some time together. 💙

When something like the fire at The Blue Bell Inn happens, it’s not just one business that feels the impact. Every day we’re closed, it affects the incredible local suppliers who help make what we do so special.

This weekend we’d love to shine a light on one of our absolute favourites 🥩
