Couldn’t be bothered cooking yesterday so we decided to go to Mission Cafe for lunch. Surprised that it was empty and when we spoke to Joan Smith she said it’s because of Broad Street being closed due to ongoing building works, no passing trade. Shame when local businesses are being affected by so called improvements to the town. We had the fish and scampi combo and it was an absolute treat. Joan goes out of her way to make folk feel welcome and provides lovely meals. Come on folks support local businesses before the choice is taken away. Use it or lose it. Mission cafe been there a long time and would be a shame if it was to close through lack of use. Saturday will be ideal chance with the Lifeboat Open Day on, treat yourselves to a lovely meal or just coffee and a scone.
