I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to takeover this pub in 2008.
Never did i think, i would make so many friends, and would it create so many memories.
Big thanks to all the staff who have worked for me over the years, to my family who have supported me, and to those who have went the extra mile.
One of them is Louis Mckinlay who wrote this amazing poem
There was a pub in Edinburgh called the kilted pig.
It was a great place to go if you need a swig
The atmosphere was brilliant, the people all were nice
I’d tell you all about it if you keep it concise
It was run by the Mcnallys who are Irish, if they were to be me family
It would be something I’d wish
The headman was Marty
He is such a nice guy
Though he always mumbles
I cannot deny
Then they’res Marty’s missus
Her name is kayann
She’s like me second mother
If only I was her man
Then there’s their laddie
His short name is fin
Whenever I enter he says
“Alright mate, what’s happenin”
Another mcnally
Is fins brother Danny
Also runs the Scotsman
Such a hardworking manny
To start with the locals is
Auld Chris Swan
He’s hardly ever out the place
He’ll drink until dawn
Then there’s swannys buddy
Auld English Kev
They get along fine together
They both love their bev
My very best bar mate
Was a guy called Jase
If I never met him
it would be a disgrace
Just over the water
Come the family Jackson
If they’re away watching hearts
They’ll soon be Backson
Frequent auld duffers
Tony and Trevor
Sitting, drinking and smoking
They’ll be there forever
Stevie and goggs
They were quite the huckle
like the brothers on tele
With the last name chuckle
Then theres mark hazlewood
Who looks like penfold
But his patter and company
Are certainly gold
Neighbouring local
Businessman Walky
He can make mistakes
But he’s good for Talky
Then come newly weds
Lorna and Marty Rooney
If they’re away on their holiday
they’ll be back sooney
Another good couple
Are angie and goggs
Their pals with my parents
Cuz we love them loads
Beautiful twin sisters
Are Emma and Kate
They’re the type of women
You couldn’t possibly hate
Followed comes their mother
Lovely lady Pat
She shares her daughters beauty
And that is that
Gone but not forgotten
Among Jamie W***y and Ian
They may be no longer here
But we all miss seein’
Don’t forget the barmaids
All of them gorgeous girls
Theyre beauty and hard workingness
Will make your hair go curls
There’s so many others
To mention but a few
It was good place to go
To have a drink or two
You could close down
Any other locals
And nobody would give a fig
But the heart and soul of Edinburgh
Was in the kilted pig
