✨ Terroir Highlight Post! ✨
We have selected a couple of our many amazing examples of how terroir affects the flavour profiles of w**e 🍷 In this selection, you can find each photographed w**e in the same order as their summaries below…
Piedra Fluida Blanco: Grown on the volcanic slopes of Mount Teide, at elevations of up to 1,687 metres, this w**e combines smoky minerality with crisp citrus, white pepper and peach pith.
Château Rives-Blanques, Conservatòri: Situated 350 metres above sea level, where Mediterranean warmth meets Atlantic freshness, cool mountain nights slow grape ripening. The result is an “oaky work of art born of Winter”, with creamy elegance and a lightly tannic finish.
Route 111: Named after the road connecting the origins of its two grape varieties, Agiorgitiko and Mavrodaphne, this high-altitude w**e is aged unfiltered to preserve its regional character. Rich and herby, it offers juicy red and black berries, baking spices and a touch of cocoa.
Black Book 2023: Sourced from Clayhill Vineyard, where clay-rich soils retain moisture, this w**e undergoes wild yeast fermentation and spends 8–9 months ageing in French Burgundy barrels. The result is a profile of sour and black cherries, finished with savoury notes and silky black pepper.
And that’s just to name a few…
We are approaching a big w**e switch-up soon, so some of our w**es will be leaving our shelves, including some mentioned here. But don’t worry! Come along to sit in and relax with a glass, or get a bottle to takeaway, whatever your plans are! Cheers 🥂
