A beautiful Friend and regular sent this Poem to the pub. It’s so lovely of Sharon Clark and her hubby Graham.
A TOAST TO THE MID YOKEN
A year ago a challenge came,
A quiet pub, a fading flame.
The doors stood open, yet somehow still,
Awaiting hearts with warmth & will.
Then Stuart & Jacqui took the reins,
With Ellie & Mel beside the same.
Along with partners, staff & friends,
Determined to see a new chapter begin.
And what a chapter it has been -
They've breathed new life in where silence had been.
A lounge once opened now and then,
Now overflows with smiling friends.
From Sunday coffees - cups on hand,
To laughter ringing through the land,
The Mid Yoken hums from morning till night,
A beacon of welcome, warmth & light!
Quiz nights that test the sharpest minds,
Free pool where friendly rivals find,
A reason to gather, joke & cheer,
And make new memories year by year!
The runners set off on Tuesday nights,
Children celebrate with pure delight,
Christenings, hen do's, parties galore,
And football teams crowding through the door!
No matter your colours, scarf or team,
Your welcomed in with the same esteem,
For here at The Mid all belong -
A community joined in friendships strong!
The Tipsy Terrace comes alive,
On summer evenings filled with vibes,
While inside too the good times roll,
Ben Darling & Aimee Corr playing - so good for the soul!
And when the World Cup lights the sky,
While others sleep they'll still comply.
Keeping doors open through the night,
So every fan can share the sight!
The food deserves a special mention too,
Prepared by a chef who's a star through & through.
And that famous Sunday roast - we'll happily confess,
Is so good it leaves us all suitably impressed!!! 😋
But more than events and bustling trade,
It's the atmosphere that "The Evans" have made.
The smiles, the chats, the helping hands,
The sense that here your part of the clan.
So here's to Stu and Jacqui too,
To Ellie & Mel and all the crew.
For all you've built and all you've done,
For bringing together everyone!
You've done your community proud indeed,
Creating far more than a place to meet.
You've built a home where friendships grow -
And that's a gift more precious than you know! 🥰
So raise a glass and let it be known,
The Mid Yoken has truly grown.
Here's to one year - and many more to come,
To the family, the staff and everyone! 🥂🍾
