We are two brothers, brought up locally, with over 20 years of passion and experience in the hospitality and wine industry. We love great food and interesting wines and staunchly believe in sourcing as much as we can locally. With wine, we have a passion for minimal intervention and sustainable practices with around half our list being classified as either Organic or Biodynamic. They are wines tha

t are crafted without additives, without the use of pesticides or manmade fertilizers or without the addition of stabilising agents. In short, wine as nature intended. We have taken over a much loved venue on the corner of Dean Street and Raeburn Place in Stockbridge and aim to create Edinburgh’s finest wine bar with food. A relaxed, comfortable venue that makes you want to come back every day. Just think “Cheers” with us instead of Ted Danson! So why not come on in, try some wine and enjoy our food. You can even buy our wine to take home.

The end of an Era!

This Saturday marks the last shift for our wonderful Emma at Good Brothers. 🥲

Emma joined me over 4 years ago as a part time member of staff at the original GB on Dean Street, but quickly rose through the ranks to become our Manager at Good Brothers Wine Cellars, skillfully navigating the good ship through a change of venue, multiple changes of team over the years and putting up with me and all of my crazy ideas.

On a personal note, I could not have achieved anywhere near as much as I have in this small business we call home without Emma as my No 2. She has been a rock for the company and, to say she will be missed is a massive understatement.

Thank you Emma for everything. You go on to bigger and better things with our eternal gratitude, thanks and best wishes. Just remember, you will always be family.

Her last hurrah will be this Saturday, so if you can, please pop by and say goodbye.

What a week it’s been so far, we’ve been a bit sticky behind the bar in this warm weather but one can’t complain, we love that you keep us busy!

There’s been a lot of discussion recently around wine memberships, discount clubs, and whether some pricing models in the wine trade are genuinely transparent.

And honestly, some of the criticism is valid.

If discounts are built around inflated RRPs, associated-company pricing, or wines that can’t realistically be benchmarked elsewhere, then customers absolutely should ask questions.

Consumers deserve transparency.

But I also think it’s important not to throw every membership model into the same category.

At WineKraft and Good Brothers Wine Cellars, our Insider Wine Club works differently.

Our pricing is benchmarked directly against the shelf prices in our own physical retail stores. Customers can walk in, see the wines, speak to the team, attend tastings, and understand exactly what they’re buying and what value they’re receiving.

The membership isn’t simply about “cheap wine.”

It’s about building a modern independent wine merchant model where customers can: – support local independent businesses – access genuinely competitive pricing – get advice from people they actually know – attend tastings and events – order online for collection or delivery – and feel connected to the people selecting the wines

For £165 per year, members receive: 🍷 25% off wine 🥃 15% off spirits 📦 click & collect and delivery access 🍇 tastings, events, and member experiences 🏪 all backed by real bricks-and-mortar wine shops

That last point matters.

In a world increasingly dominated by faceless algorithms, warehouses, and manufactured discounts, there is still huge value in knowing who you buy from.

Not all discount clubs are bad. Some are simply independent businesses trying to build a more transparent, community-driven way of selling wine.
