Inspired by our time spent living, working and travelling in Melbourne, New York, San Francisco and all over Europe we want to bring the best of what we experienced and enjoyed to Edinburgh. S & G is a space where the focus is on what we consider to be the simpler pleasures in life; exceptional food and wine; brilliant music; engaging literature. And, most importantly, good company. The focus will

be on pairing artisan cheeses with suitably matched wines. We will be offering regularly changing cheese and wine flights showcasing the best seasonal cheeses alongside what wine we have been enjoying that month! As well as cheese we will have a fabulous selection of charcuterie, amazing grilled cheese sourdough, homemade sausage rolls and other tasty morsels. In isolation all are good – together we think they are the basis for enjoying life.

Wine Tasting with winemaker Brian Bicknell, Mahi Wines, Marlborough 🇳🇿

Long, long overdue but we are finally bringing back our intimate ‘drink with the winemaker’ sit down tastings at Stockbridge & we’re kicking things off with a friend of the bar; Brian Bicknell, owner and winemaker at in Marlborough, New Zealand.

Join us on Wednesday 4th March from 8 until 9.30pm (ish) in Stockbridge as we taste through a range of Brian’s fantastic Chardonnay, Pinot and of course Sauvignon Blanc & chat all things NZ winemaking.

These tastings are as casual as they come, it’s a fantastic opportunity to drink delicious wine in a relaxed environment with the person behind what’s in your glass.

Tickets are £30 per person & limited to 12 people.
There will be 5 wines to taste over the evening & all wines will be available to order on the night. There will of course be a selection of cheeses to nibble on whilst you taste & talk!

Join us this Wednesday from 6pm at the Stockbridge bar, as we have the pleasure of welcoming Winemaker Tommy Grimshaw & Calum Chance from the brilliant in Dorset.

We will have all 4 of their cuvées available to buy by the glass - with special 75ml measures available for the evening - which Tommy & Calum will be pouring at your table. An amazing opportunity to drink some of the best English sparkling available today (it’s been on our list for years now) whilst chatting to the folk who make it all happen.

No ticket required, just pop in & grab a table. A great way to spend a Wednesday.

We’re excited to celebrate the end of January (yep we are already thinking about that), the darkest & dreichest month of the year, with a listen through of one of the most stunning pop albums of the 80’s: Hounds of Love by the inimitable KATE BUSH.

Todd and Sam will be at the helm of our discussion, steering us through the history, lyrics, emotion and flavour of the album with individual wines paired with both sides A and B 🤟🏻
