Open for dinner on Tuesday from this week!

Tuesday menus each week will combine our bar and restaurant menus to provide a quick & affordable option for anyone looking for an easy midweek dinner. Don’t worry though, we’ll still have plenty on offer for anyone wanting to go all out.

Just as a reminder too… we’re offering £10 corkage (£20 on larger bottles) on Tuesdays for any of you looking to bring a bottle with you. There’s a limit of 2 bottles per table on this but with so many great local off licences around town why not support one of them and pop in to grab a bottle on the way.

Corkage on Tuesdays!

From next week we’ll be opening on Tuesday evenings and as a one off for Tuesday nights, you’ll be welcome to bring a bottle with you.

If you’ve got a nice bottle hidden away somewhere and you’re looking for something delicious to eat with it then this might be the perfect opportunity.

Corkage rules are as follows:
£10 for standard bottle sizes
£20 larger format bottles
2 bottle limit per table

Tuesday menu to follow soon so keep an eye out.

The days are getting longer and the sight of the sun is becoming less strange.

As we get ready for the run up to summer we’ve decided to start opening on Tuesday nights from the beginning of May. If Tuesdays are successful we’ll hopefully add Monday evenings soon too.

Bookings are now open from Tuesday 5th onwards so we hope to see you on a Tuesday evening soon.

Salt cod mousse, charred sourdough, herb oil

The only dish that’s been on our menu since day one and still our best seller. It’s the best way to start your meal when you visit us and has always been a huge customer favourite!

Sadly though, due to overfishing, and water temperatures affected by climate change, cod stocks have been in decline since 2015. Quotas were cut by 44% in December and with the recent decision to downgrade it to the lowest possible level for sustainability, we have had to question whether we should continue to use it.

Starting this week, we have decided to stop using cod on the menu at the restaurant and move to using more sustainable alternatives instead. Our cod mousse will now be made with po***ck and you’ll see a bit more hake & coley on our menus too.

We’ve done a trial run with the mousse and in a blind tasting, we couldn’t tell the difference between it being made with cod or po***ck so hopefully none of you will feel there is any reduction in quality.

We have absolute confidence and trust in our fish suppliers and where they source our fish from so we hope that this is only has to be a temporary decision. With so many great alternative options out there though, it feels like the right thing to do at present.
