Something new at Little Rascal - coffee by Mutual ☕

Alongside the wine, we’re now serving great coffee too. Don’t panic - we’re not trying to rival the brilliant spots we’re lucky to have around Corstorphine — we just wanted to serve a genuinely great coffee for designated drivers, lazy lunches, pastry pit-stops, midweek catch-ups, or anyone who fancies a coffee before a wine… or alongside one.

We’ve teamed up with our pal Bruce from Mutual Coffee, whose beans we’ll also have available to buy in small batches from the bar.

To celebrate, this Sunday during lunch we’ll be serving £2 coffees from 12–2pm, with Bruce himself behind the machine making them. Pop in, say hello, grab a coffee and a pastry, and hang out for a bit.

(Just a wee heads up — no takeaway coffees are available.)

We’ve got some news…

As you’ve maybe heard - Little Rascal Wine is now in new hands.

We’re Aaron & Jake, locals who’ve spent a lot of time in this neighbourhood (and quite a bit of it in Little Rascal too). When the opportunity came up, we couldn’t resist taking it on.

First things first, we’re not here to change what makes Little Rascal what it is. It’s always been about great wine, good people, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. That’s staying exactly as it should.

But… we’ll be adding our own touch over the coming months:
– More events & tastings
– Opening on Sundays 🍾
– A small, classic cocktail list 🍸
– And always keeping things unpretentious and approachable

We’ve already met so many friendly faces, but if you haven’t popped in yet — we’d love to have you down for a drink and say hello.

Come evolve the space with us.

Aaron & Jake

A big thank you to everyone who’s been part of Little Rascal over the years and helped shape it into what it is today — we’re excited to build on that. And a special thanks to James at Fidra Property () for his support throughout the deal, and Ryan at Snedz Media (.media) for capturing it all so well.

It's Beaujolais Nouveau day people.

2 wonderful cuvees at Little Rascal to delight your taste buds.

Le Soly Nouveau from Louis Tete has been quoted as being Oz Clarkes favourite Beaujolais of recent years, while Domaine de la Couvette is super aromatic, juicy and fun.

Get them while they are hot, as when they are gone, they are definitely gone.

CIDER

As the apple harvest is now in full swing here in the UK, with what is looking like a fantastic crop, we thought it would be a nice moment to highlight a beautiful cider we have in our fridges and in our glasses at the moment, the wonderful 2024 'P'tite Cuvee' from Cidrerie Du Golfe.

In the seaside town of Arradon in Brittany, Marc Abel and Max Brel, craft ciders from their 5ha of apple trees, with no additions or treatments on their land or trees, allowing nature to run its course and help them produce healthy fruit.

'P'tite Cuvee' is made from the sharp variety Guillevic, which is native to the area, and produces a lightly sparkling cider, with light tannins, and bursting with pear, green banana apple, and a spicy peppery finish.

Available now in the bar while stocks last!

NEW SOFT

Excites to finally upgrade our soft drinks thanks to the wonderul .kombucha

Julia has been making unpasteurized, small batch kombuchas in Edinburgh, for 3 years, having begun her production in our sister venue old Dean Street premise. She now has grown her production to supply brilliant local cafes, michelin recommended restaurants, and we are super proud to be serving it now here at Little Rascal.

We have her newest batch, her Mango Kombucha, available now in the bar for those looking for a Non Alcoholic drink to enjoy alongside our cheese and charcuterie.

CHENIN BLANC

A belter of a Chenin Blanc from Brendan Stater-West, hailing from Oregon.

Beginning his career working in a Parisian wine shop, he was selling the wines of Domaine Guiberteau, one of the benchmark producers in Saumur. After tasting a 2008 Brézé from the domaine he had something of a revelation and decided to up sticks from Paris to begin the next chapter of wine career.

He managed to land an apprenticeship with Romain Guiberteau and worked at the domaine until Romain proposed 1ha of a vineyard named 'Les Chapaudaises' that had the terroir to suit the style of wines Brendan sought to make.

The 2024 Saumur Blanc comes from a selection of north-east facing vines on the lower slope of the parcel, where there is a little more clay, sand and loam in the topsoil before hitting the limestone that is common here.

Ambient yeast ferment, around 8 months on lees in used barrels and modest sulfur additions.

The vines have been farmed organically long before Brendan took them on in 2015, and this is the ethos he has carried forward, unsurprising given his mentor.

Pure, chalky, and razor sharp with chamomile, citrus, fresh yellow orchard fruits and a lovely mineral core, a standout chenin blanc on our list at the moment.

BEER

Some top picks from our small beer selection right now, available to drink in or takeaway.

Gueuzerie Tilquin Oude Rhubarbe à l'Ancienne 2022/23 - A rhubarb lambic from Wallonia, from one of the only brewers allowed to obtain wort from Cantillon. Blend of 1, 2 and 3 year old lambics, with 250g of fresh local rhubarb per litre of lambic.

Burning Sky, Saison Provision 2023 - 10th anniversary edition of the annual tavern strength farmhouse ale from Burning Sky, fermented with saison yeas then a blend of lactobacillus and brettanomyces yeasts whilst aging in oak foudres, and now 2 years in bottle.

3 Fonteinen, Oude Kriek 2022/23 - A blend of 3, 4 and 5 year old lambics giving an average age of 40 months for this classic Oude Kriek. 5 months macerating with handpicked belgian sour cherries, utilising everything but the stem, to ensure the oils from the kernel add to the complexity of the beer.

TASTING

Join us at the bar, as we invite our friends at to explore one of Portugal's most influential and dynamic winemaking families, Niepoort.
raeburnwines will be with us for the evening, to showcase some of our favourite expressions from their portfolio, as we learn a little about how Niepoort have developed from a small Port Shipping business to the expansive and and iconic operation they are today.
