Two new Finn Thomson releases: a 22yo Bowmore single bourbon barrel, and a 15yo Tomatin in a vin de Constance cask - a world renowned example of a Constantia dessert w**e from South Africa. Usual amazing Diggers prices.

A trio of new whiskies from Annandale Distillery.

We have two fresh bourbon single casks bottled at a more approachable and price-friendly 46% abv: the Man O'Words (unpeated) and Man O'Sword (peated). These are currently only available in Dumfries and Galloway, so we're thrilled to be the first pub in Edinburgh to get these! Both £4.50/35ml.

We also have James Cosmo's Storyman blend, but don't be fooled. This is 80% malt from Annandale Distillery, and 20% a 50:50 malt: grain blend. An exceptionally high malt content for a blend from any period of time, and especially in modern times. 46% abv, non-chill filtered. £3.50/35ml. You really can't go wrong!

We don’t tend to do break even bottles, when I get a deal I always pass it on. This bottle I can currently get from trade for around £1460 a bottle. Glenfarclas 40yo 43.2%, you can try it for ‘only’ £50/35ml, perfume bottle Tomintoul 40% £8.50/35ml and the Scapa 14yo 40% £8/35ml

Some brand new whiskies for your weekend dram rollcall. Pick of the bunch is this Balvenie 12yo 1931 Collection made from 100% home malted barley, finished in European oak sherry casks, and bottled at 47.5% abv. £8.50/35ml.

Also joining the gantry are a trio of Bonnington releases, fully matured in cognac, oloroso sherry, and port casks respectively; bottled at 47% abv and all £4.00/35ml.

And into the festival is Nor' Loch bourbon cask single malt, also from Bonnington distillery, and named for the "lake" (polluted cess pit) that once sat below Edinburgh Castle where Princes Street Gardens thankfully are. 40% abv, £3.00/35ml.

Our next wh**ky tasting on Thursday 29 October, 7:30pm is with none other than our very own Dom! Dr Dom's Drams returns with Dr Dom Heard It Through the Grapevine, a tasting of 6 w**e cask whiskies. If you'd like to join in, tickets cost £20pp and are available only at the bar (sorry internet people).

Not sure if this is related but our Mcewans was missing from our order last week and showing as out of stock this week. Heineken have refused us permission to try buy elsewhere. We will try to plead our case and we will increase our Diggers 80/- order but the taps may run dry until they restock. Apologies in advance
