The AGM is soon, I wonder how many members will actually turn up?
Those who do I hope they will not just sit there and accept any old guff spouted out by the secretary. He needs to be challenged on everything and made to prove his statements.
It wasn't many years ago there was a similar situation were by one person had total control and look what happened then. The club went bankrupt and had to sell the property to pay the enormous debts incurred and the threats of legal action against the membership. You would have thought the then committee would have noticed what was going on but apparently not I wonder why? Not one committee member challenged the man. Considering when the new administration took over they were making a clear profit of £500 a month and if you also take into account the lease cost and a loan paid each month the profit would have been £2,200 a month. What on earth was happening before It makes you wonder how much money was leaking out of the club under the old administration?
Is the same thing happening again? I hope not because all debts are now members debts as the club has no assets.
I've been informed that the stock take showed large losses in the first 5 months of 2016, the losses were put down to theft by the draymen. Honestly; pull the other one. Just ask yourself who was checking the stock in, why wasn't any shortages noticed and why wasn't the brewery informed? The draymen are agents of the brewery and all such theft/ shortfalls should be made good by them either in stock or cash; did this happen? if not why not.
If no claim was made does this mean it wasn't the draymen, then who had the stock?
What are the committee covering up and why?
My informant feels the present committee are contemptuous of the membership and no one dare challenge them for fear of repercussions.
For the club to survive it needs to be put on an honest footing with a committee of honest stalwarts who will uphold standards and rules.
