Pie ponderings…

Without wanting to cause too much of a palaver over pastry…

For me, a pot pie is quite sufficient pastry for a pie. I’m not that into a fully enclosed pastry if I’m honest. I’d rather have more filling less pastry.

I know we’ll get the pie police piping up… “ITS NOT A PROPER PIE!!” I’ve even known people get genuinely angry about it before, actual full-on anger. Lol.

What are your thoughts? And you can’t write it’s not a proper pie, that’s a ridiculous argument to make and I’m not having it!

Pen & paper job.

Thursday 17th September. I got the date wrong last time. Soz.

Not done one for while. Actually the last one I did, my son got rushed to A&E half way through because he’d squeezed one of those washing machine tablet things in his eye. He wasn’t at the quiz obvs. But ye, silly sausage.

He’s alright now though don’t worry. I mean, he can be a bit hard work like, but I’m not sure we can put that down to the chemicals in his eyes. Just your run of the mill 3 year old behaviour ya know.

Anyways, I’ll let you get on. Come along. It’s fun. Anything can happen.

Big day for the kids going back today, and for all the parents obvs, chaos in the rain this morning lol.

May aswell skip cooking and come for a burger tonight.

Open for lunch from 12, a heads up, we are having some kitchen equipment being repaired after a long slog of a sweltering summer, so we are just serving our Lunch Deal Menu till 2.30pm.

LIVE MUSIC TODAY @ 7pm with Mr Richie Stixx

We’ll be doing an ‘indoor BBQ’ menu from 5ish pm till 7pm. Because it was raining loads, but now it’s stopped, but might start again.

SUNDAY ROASTING….

Starting to get into proper Sunday Roast season aren’t we? And we do get fully booked most weeks, so if you fancy a roast then let us know. I think it’s a really good roast.

We’ve also got Pork Belly on the menu for this Sunday. In fact, we’ve actually got it coming on the main menu from next month. It’s a really good dish we’ve pulled together. It’s cured, braised & then roasted. So takes a fair bit of looking after.

Also a couple of pies. Which is exciting.

Some more exciting news, Jason Huxley tomorrow night at 9pm. Legend.
