π₯πͺπΌ A little look at some of the nutrition education I've been providing alongside my Small Group PT sessions at Lukaris PT Centre!
One thing I've always believed is that exercise and nutrition go hand in hand. It's not just about turning up, lifting weights and going home. I want people to understand a bit more about what they're doing and why! π
Recently, we covered dietary fats, including why our bodies need them, the different types, how they support our health and why portion sizes are important.
Something that surprises a few people is that fat contains 9 calories per gram, compared with 4 calories per gram for both protein and carbohydrates.
That doesn't mean fats are bad for you! Far from it. They're essential for our health, but understanding how calorie dense certain foods are can be really useful, particularly if you're trying to manage your weight. π₯π₯
I enjoy putting these little information sheets together because I want people to leave my sessions having learnt something useful that they can apply to everyday life.
No complicated diets, no cutting out entire food groups and certainly no telling people they can't enjoy the foods they love! ππ«
Just practical information to help people make more informed choices.
Fitness isn't just about what you can achieve in the gym. It's also about building knowledge, confidence and habits that you can maintain outside of it! πͺπΌβ€οΈ
Thought I'd share the sheet on here too in case anyone else finds it useful! π
