Hello everyone, it's Ben. I'm highjacking the page for a minute. Have I got your attention!

I'm trying to raise over £100 for my boxing trip to London on June 6th to June 8th. I've been invited to the London championships, and I need to contribute £100-£150 to be able to go.

This Friday night is quiz night and I've organised a raffle at £1 a strip!

Prices to include -
Sunday Roast voucher for 2
Small hampers and a couple of bottles of wine.

Can I remind everyone who is taking part in the quiz, to bring some cash to take part and of course anyone passing the pub, please pop in and buy a ticket. The draw will be done Friday night after the quiz.

Well… another splendidly successful wine tasting evening has staggered gracefully into the history books!

A huge thank you to all 34 wonderful travellers who joined us on our decidedly “continental” journey around Europe. I do hope you enjoyed the virtual grand tour of vineyards, valleys and villages — although judging by the state of the route by the end of the evening, many of you appeared to be zigzagging across the map rather more enthusiastically than intended. Frankly, I suspect the tour guide and coach driver may have been sampling the cargo a little too diligently… purely for quality control purposes, of course.

Alongside the wines was a rather glorious grazing table groaning under the weight of English and Continental cheeses, cured meats and assorted delights — exactly the sort of thing one needs when attempting to remain upright after “just one more glass.”

We hope you’ve all gone home with some wonderful memories, a few new favourite wines… and only the mildest of sore heads this morning.

And for those who missed this year’s adventure — fear not! We host a wine tasting evening every year around May, so there will always be another excuse to raise a glass and wander Europe without ever leaving the pub. Santé!
