One night only: The Mitre welcomes celebrated chef Lee Wescott to the Chef's Table for an evening built around good food, good booze and even better company.

Lee's cooked his way across British telly, representing the South-East on Great British Menu, popping up on Saturday Kitchen, and judging on MasterChef in 2015. He and his team take real pride in every plate, earning praise from The Guardian, The Times, The Telegraph, the Michelin Guide, AA Rosette Guide and The Good Food Guide along the way.

Settle in for a welcome snack, then a beautifully curated three-course supper. Starter, main and a proper pudding to finish. An intimate evening, and a rare chance to taste Lee's cooking up close, all within the elegant surroundings of The Mitre.

There's a particular kind of quiet that falls over a room when someone who truly knows meat starts talking about it. Last month, that quiet fell over The Mitre for one very delicious evening.

Richard Robinson opened the night with all the warmth you'd expect from us, before handing the floor to Charlie and the team from HG Walter, who talked us through the finest cuts going. From provenance to heritage. The whole story behind what ends up on the plate. No stiff lecture, mind: questions flew, w**e flowed, and more than a few guests swapped their own kitchen war stories along the way. This is exactly the kind of evening we love hosting. Pull up a chair, get stuck in, leave knowing something you didn't before.

The Mitre is a riverside retreat in historic Hampton Court, directly opposite the Palace gates, where heritage and hospitality have always gone hand in hand.
