The Bar is clearly a second home for many at Chad's, and is certainly one of the focal points of the social life of the college. Its friendly atmosphere and quirky setting make it the ideal place to meet your friends. At Chad's, we welcome people who don't have any desire to get drunk and fall over just as much as anyone else, and despite what university st

ereotypes might suggest, it's not all about drinking vast quantities of alcohol. In fact, in keeping with DSU policy, we sell ludicrously cheap soft drinks, just because we can! Freshers will be given the opportunity to work behind the bar early in the first term, and anyone who enjoys a good laugh and isn't afraid of a busy couple of hours work should feel free to get stuck in. Hello all,

We’ve been getting a lot of messages asking us what the current rules are in relation to other colleges visiting our bar. Hopefully this post will clear up some of the confusion.

Currently, you need to have at least one Chad’s person on your table when drinking in the bar. For instance, you could even have a table consisting of one Chad’s and five non-Chad’s if desired.

You must join the Chad’s bar booking page to reserve your table and list the names of all the people on your table in a post. Please also specify if you want to sit inside or outside when booking. If you get a table then you will be notified.

This rule may change from the 21 June depending on Boris’ announcement on Monday so keep your eyes peeled.

Please also remember that if you are coming to drink in the bar under the current circumstances then an LFT is mandatory. Said LFT must not be more than four days old when you come to the bar and if this is the case then you will not be accepted.

The time has come, after months with no middle tap it has finally returned.

A beautiful lemon IPA 6.0% ABV from the Wild Beer Co, the perfect refreshing accompaniment for the lovely summer weather.

£2.70 for one of these beauties (apologies for the price hike, covid hasn’t treated breweries nicely and it’s necessary to keep the nice beers coming).

Come down to the bar remembering you LFTs and enjoy one of these before it runs out!!
