Well as we are all aware that from today until
further notice all uk bars restaurants gyms and cafes are to close . We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their continued support concerning this matter we took the decision to go ahead with the last gig for the time being last night with the absolute awesome band that is twister you were outstanding and the moral that was in the bar was phenomenal thank you to All of our customers both new and old for supporting not only the pub industry but to the live music scene as this has a knock on effect for musicians who gig every week we would also like to say a massive thank you to on the case music and Jem Caisley who look after many pubs sourcing us with live music . Also to our bar staff who continually support management and serve you our customers . This by no means goodbye this is simply a way of looking after everyone making sure you all stay safe and well so once this is over we will be back looking forward to seeing you in one of Durham’s many establishments

Right as your all by now aware the government has ordered all pubs clubs at cafes to close at midnight tonight so if we are going to close let’s just enjoy the band tonight johns smiths , fosters strong bow original and Murphys and smiths £3 a pint moretti and Amstel dark fruits £3-50 come durham let’s not give up till 12 am tonight can we take this opportunity to thank you for all your support in these very difficult times we look forward to the day we reopen and welcome you all back in ❤️💙

It’s buisness as usual here at the big jug , and tonight in a change of band we now have official twister from 9pm we are open from 3pm . We do have contactless payment chip and pin available. We have increased our cleaning regime given the circumstances and guidelines that have been put in place over recent days . So please feel free to join us if your fit and well we do have plenty of soap , towels and staff have access to non latex gloves and hand sanitiser we are taking as many steps possible to ensure the health and safety of both you our customers and our staff through these difficult times. So please stay safe guys

Well guys we have been hard at work preparing for opening on Friday with live music from little Moscow . The bar has had a deep clean following advise and guidelines from the government so please like our previous post if you are fit and well then please feel free to join us but if your in any doubt please stay safe and follow guidelines set out by the nhs with regards to self isolation . We will be encouraging more contactless payments but you are still welcome to pay by cash . The staff do have access to non latex gloves and hand sanitiser . As part of our stricter cleaning procedures staff will regularly be cleaning the entrances to doors , toilets and surfaces with the appropriate cleaning products to ensure we are doing all we can to provide a safer environment in these testing times . Finally we would like to thank not only for your continued custom but also your cooperation during this time on uncertainty.

Good morning to you all , in light of the current situation and guidelines we will have taken the decision to remain open as usual every Friday and Saturday unless we are told otherwise. We have implemented more cleaning regimes and there is more than enough soap towels and toilet roll and staff have access to hand sanitiser . So unless you are not symptomatic then please feel free to come and join us for a great night out . We have for now stopped karaoke as a measure but we still have our live band on a Friday and our disco on Saturday . Both management and staff of the big jug would like to say to all of our customers and beyond we hope you stay safe and stay well and thank you all in supporting us
through this very difficult time
