There are many rumours about what is happening here at The Stags Head Dunster. Nigel & I we will be leaving The Stags, our last day will be Saturday 26th September.
This village, this pub, and all of you have been our world for the past few years. We’ve shared laughter, late nights, storms, celebrations, quiet pints, busy weekends, and more memories than I could ever count. I’ve been incredibly proud to help shape The Stags into the welcoming, lively, slightly cheeky home from home it’s become.
But it’s time to head home, to be near my family and my amazing network of friends, all of whom I have missed greatly.
To everyone who has supported us — from regulars who’ve become our friends, to visitors who’ve wandered in and instantly “got” what The Stags is about — thank you. You’ve made this job a joy.
A huge thank you to our bands: The Mighty Rough Justice, Neirin, MG vocalist, Jon Pattison - Singer/Songwriter & Ash of the Pheonix, Samphire, St.Fian, The Renegades The Kingstons,Evolution, Jason Toft, Levi And The Bean, Follow TheDolphin, The Wooden Suits.
And our very own The Quiz Whisperer, you have brought so many amazing nights to the Stags, which has been enjoyed by so many, testament to you that every month we had a waiting list.
But the people who I want to thank most is our incredible Stags Team, Ringo, Pepper, Saffron, Liam and Liam. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, this journey would not have been the same without you. I will miss you all so very much xx
We will be here for a little while yet, whilst we pack and organise ourselves for the return home. In the meantime its business as usual. When the time comes, I hope you will join in with us and raise a glass with us and our amazing team. Here’s to new beginnings and new adventures. Thank you to everyone of you ###

🎶 Bank Holiday Monday Acoustic Session/Open Mic🎶

Monday 31st August sees the our monthly acoustic session with Jon Pattison - Singer/Songwriter & Ash of the Pheonix return!

Open to all, whether you want to perform, or just enjoy some live music in the relaxed atmosphere of our cosy pub, this one's for you!!

The music starts at 7.00, but please arrive a bit earlier for registration if you wanted to get involved.

This may be the last one of these for a while, so don't miss the opportunity of a fantastic evening at The Stags while you can.

It's with a heavy heart we have to announce tomorrow's live music with The Mighty Rough Justice has had to be cancelled 😭 It's always a good night when West Somerset's sexiest rockers roll into town, and we're hoping this may turn into a postponed even rather than a cancelled one - watch this space for an update on that one!!

Sorry to everyone looking forward to this, we're just as disappointed as you are!

A few busy weeks ahead for West Somersets sexiest rockers starting with one of favourite events, the annual trip to Blenhiem Gardens in Minehead.
Always a favourite with all the bands that play there during the summer, and next weekend (22nd) its our turn to perform in this wonderful venue.
So get the sunscreen and deck chairs ready for an afternoon of soul soothing facemelting rock tunes 👌

One week to go until we welcome local up and coming band Ash of the Phoenix to the The Stags Head - Dunster for the first time!

They've been showcasing their talents locally and a bit further afield these last couple of months, and we're pleased to have them performing in the intimate venue that is the Stags!

Playing tunes from the 70s right up to modern day hits, these guys are no strangers to the live music scene and we're looking forward to them being here!!

Sunday 16th August, 8.00pm - 10.00pm, free entry and good vibes 😎

Our upcoming live music events for throughout August🥳

We have a lively weekend coming up this weekend as we welcome back Jeeves Biscotti to entertain you all with another well curated DJ set this Friday (31st)! The disco business starts at 7.00pm.

And next up is a man who shouldn't really need an introduction by now, but we'll give him one anyway; "One of The Stags Head favourites, the one and only.....MG vocalist" is joining us for your listening pleasure on Saturday 1st from 8.00pm. Booking is highly recommended if you would like to ensure a place to sit.

SUNDAY FUNDAY INCOMING!!! 😎🤩

BBQ, LIVE MUSIC, and FOOTBALL at The Stags Head - Dunster this weekend!!

Sunday 19th brings many happenings here at the pub!!

The weather's looking sweet again, so we're firing up the barbie (and Nigel!!) once again and will be serving the best burgers, hot dogs, and other fantastic BBQ food, all cooked by Dunster's primo grill master (we have no other evidence to back that claim up, so you'll just have to come and see for yourselves how accurate it is!!). Food will be being served from 4.00pm

Then local duo The Kingstons will joining us for the first time with a gig in the garden from 5.00pm - 7.00pm. We're looking forward to hosting them ourselves, and being able to bring their eclectic repertoire of songs, ranging from the 60s all the way through to now, to you for your listening pleasure!

And then, and hopefully we'll make it past Argentina tonight and be making an appearance 😬🤞, we will be showing the 2026 World Cup final from 8.00pm to finish off the evening nicely!

So much to do, all on one place!! Sounds ideal 😁
