Hey folks - we are absolutely not closing but we are very excited to be rebranding.
So slightly dramatic headline … we aren’t closing we are rebranding and merging some of the best loved dishes of Sol y Sombra with our love of Scottish produce and culture.
The last two years we have tried to make Sol y Sombra continue in its current form but after 16 years altogether we feel it needs a refresh.
We have spent a huge amount of money on the building and refurbished every aspect now and that along with massive personal changes in our life has led us to a place where we feel that Sol y Sombra wasn’t authentic to us. We loved it so much we bought it but change is always good.
The last year especially has felt that we aren’t offering customers exactly what they expect and we aren’t able to make changes we want to for fear of disappointment.
So it’s a rebrand - a new menu and an open bar with entertainment. It’s a home from home that sits firmly in its place and in our beautiful little town.
This page will change over mid June and we would love to have you along for the next chapter of Gray Street but we totally understand it might not be for you.
Thank you for all the love but rest assured the building , team and love of serving good food and drink is only rejuvenated and we are so excited to get launched properly.
All vouchers are valid - all bookings are valid and we are contacting all bookings after the 14th June to check in.
Best wishes
Team Sol y Sombra soon to be Velevt Tide
The owner said she’s lost thousands keeping the Spanish restaurant going – and will now change the venue to a bar and Scottish-themed eatery.
