💙🎯 MORE THAN JUST DARTS IN DUNDEE
One of the reasons Bang On Target is so proud to work in partnership with Dundee Darts Academy is that what they do goes far beyond trebles, doubles and scoreboards.
It’s about confidence. It’s about belonging.
And, just as importantly, it’s about giving young people the belief that their voice matters. ❤️
Last night, the Academy welcomed Shannon Coughlin, who is currently campaigning to become a Member of the Scottish Youth Parliament, to speak with youngsters from Dundee Darts Academy and their friends at Forfar Youth Darts Club. 🗣️🏴
Shannon spoke passionately about why young people should be heard on the issues that affect them and why they should feel empowered to have their say.
That message fits perfectly with everything we see being built in Dundee.
Yes, these youngsters are developing as darts players. 🎯
But they’re also learning to communicate, support one another, grow in confidence and understand that their opinions have value.
That matters enormously.
And naturally, nobody gets through the doors of Dundee Darts Academy without eventually being handed a set of arrows… 😂
Shannon duly had a throw herself, and with the Coughlin family’s connection to darts, apparently she wasn’t too shabby either! 👏
From our perspective at Bang On Target, this is exactly why we’re so proud of the partnership.
Darts can be the vehicle. But the destination can be so much bigger. 💙
Huge credit to Shannon for taking the time to speak with the youngsters, and we wish her all the very best with her upcoming election. 🌟
Young people deserve opportunities to play. They deserve opportunities to grow.
And they absolutely deserve opportunities to be heard. Dundee Darts Academy gives them that in spades. ❤️
