After 4 long weeks we are back open.

I’ve painted this wee shop many times but this one was the hardest. I’m learning lots of new skills including how to use a nail gun 🙈😂

Here she is -sadly the pictures don’t show just how magical she looks but we have taken all the feedback on board and decided that actually our wee Selkie needed a bit of magic 🪄

New upholstered, new layout, new fairy lights , new artwork, new heaters….

And the menu is a mix of OG Selkie favourites and some new dishes. Lunch and light bites along with all a full tapas menu. We also have some brilliant new house cocktails 🍸

Please come visit us for cake and coffee, a long lazy lunch , date nights, nights with friends or just because…

✨A wee painting of balloons means everything to me each ballon represents one of my children with the wee white balloon and a falling feather our wee girl who didn’t make it into this world.

As I’m pulling this building apart to make changes and freshen her up I’m also looking back on the last 6 years. 🧜🏻‍♀️

💒 6 years of blood, sweat and tears. Of laughter and loss and highs and lows. We have hosted 9 weddings , 3 funeral teas , countless parties and baby showers and thru it all this wee shop has held us.

We have lost those closest to us and we have shared the joy of a much wished for Grandchild. 👶

I’ve been here when I’ve had phone calls that have made my legs give way and I have hidden in this kitchen and cried so many tears. It was here that after 45 years of looking I found my biological Father and it was here that my Uncle told me he had passed away on my 41st birthday. I sat at table 2 in the dark and cried - but I wouldn’t have made that phone call without the confidence this wee place brought me.

⭐️I always said it was my sanctuary and my safe place and I know it has been for so many others. I’ve had people come in as 17 year olds and leave as adults. And every single thing good and bad has tied me to this wee shop and Her story.

This place has changed my families life, it’s where I gained back my confidence, it gives me purpose.

This wee place has given away over 12000 meals, over 900 Christmas gifts collected and given away. It’s created family nights where our community has paid as they please. It’s been a place of hope in floods and shown that business and community can thrive together.

It’s not just a cafe bar, it’s a community with love and support and gentle guidance.
It’s magical and I promise once I’ve finished painting and get all the repairs completed it’s going to be better than ever because it’s what the wee shop and it’s what the amazing folks who saved my sanity and gave me my self respect back deserve.

Thank you for 6 years of hopes and dream and let’s pray we have 6 more ❤️

We are 6 today! 6 years of Exchange street and the wee shop that changed our lives.
We had hoped to be open but as ever repairs and refurbs always take longer than expected! But She is going to look beautiful ❤️

So over the next 6 days we have 6 special offers for you as well as birthday cake and a new menu next week.

So our first offer will go live at Noon today and it’s a good one! And we will be back very soon

Morning we are giving the wee shop a much needed freshen up and some repairs which need attention.
We are closed today and until the end of the week but we will be back open next weekend and in time to celebrate our 6th birthday next week!

🎶 Hanging around nothing to do but grown , rainy days and Mondays always get me down 🎶🎶

Not really true I love a Monday and I love that feeling of a fresh new week, I mean I am currently painting the staff loo and re-organising the kitchen. We are excited to start refreshing the wee shop - mind though we might need a wee help 🫣

Weekend plans? I’m cooking all weekend with Ethan in the wee shop.
We have Selkie Supper Market Menu, Dolly cocktails and some class tunes.

We are pretty close to selling out our Christmas Brunches and the Country Gals are pretty close to full.
